HEY FELLAS: I will neither be able to go to or COOK FOR this years event.I have some opportunities that I let pass me as a young man, that have been presented to me again, and I need to spend this year participating in my life full time.

 I can neither cook for or attend this trip. I spoke with Alpster yesterday and he had already put the page together. I wish someone had contacted me as it was many months since I made the offer to make the meatballs an ship them via SPEEDBEAD, since no one contacted me I thought it had just slipped away, but reading the page I see it is featured.

 It is not my intention to renege on a promise, I have kept my word and showed up when I said and cooked for the last 2 events> Since I don't feel like I am going to croak anytime soon all I can say is

WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR!

I spoke with Kenlake Lodge this afternoon. There are no cabins available that will accommodate four people. Those that are available cost $90+ a night. The rooms in the lodge are our best bet, although they will accommodate only two people. The daily rate is $62.96 plus tax, so figure about $73 a room. Divide that cost by two guys and the rate would be around $183 per person for the week.

Also, the majority of the Lodge rooms that are still available are Smoking rooms, so if you are a non-smoker you need to make your reservations as soon as possible.

BTW, do not use the reservation board on the Kenlake website. It will indicate that no rooms are available. Make your reservation by phone and BE SURE say that you are with the BassResource group. They are offering a discounted group rate to us.

Update: 7:25 PM CST.  I just received a confirmation of my reservation at Kenlake.  The room tax was lower than I thought, so it will cost only $157.40 per person for the week.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend this year. For the folks that have not been to one I highly recommend these trips....great fun and a bunch of really great folks. I had a ball at Lake Fork and Lake Guntersville the past two years.

Ya'll have a big time and whack some hawgs!
