I define a dink as to the set up of the rod.    Obviously, if you have 100 lb braid and a grass rake for a rod with a 10 inch swim bait and the bass is ten inches thats a dink.

So I think type of rod and setup and the lake you are on determines if its a dink.

After all, at the Classic in Pittsburg, it appeared to be a dink a thon.

On Fork, a 3 lber is a chunk, but close to being a dink!!!!!!

"Wow that eeis small.  See I was not expecting anything less than ten, or eleven inches."

Fishing on the Marsh it doesn't take long before my clients start calling 3 and 4 pounders dinks.

LOL Cart7.  I guess if some havent met dink they just wouldnt understand your post. ;)

I agree with Jigman.  Anthing that skids across the water.  I crank pretty fast too.  So it takes a decent fish not to skid.

I would say a dink is anything under the legal size.

It's 12" here in Massachusetts

Don't hear the term dink too much, it's usually always "rats". Maybe it is a RI thing. But anyway a rat or dink is anything under a pound and a half, b/c a pound an a half fish is usually the average fish up here.

I took an average of the last 10 dinks I caught, added their weight together and divided by 10. The average was still a dink. LOL
