Google "dottie the bass" then go to that lake. She was 25 pounds and was going to break the world record put was foul hooked. The anglers released the fish and shortly after was found belly up. Its in So. Cal.

That's Lake Dixon in Escondido. I grew up fishing for trout there. FML...

Since I live in Tx, all of my favorites are there and in no particular order: Fork, Amistad, Falcon, Choke Canton, O.H. Ivie

Live in Florida, but would have to vote for Texas!

If you want to catch some MONSTER bass, stay the h, e, double hockey sticks away from Michigan.

i'm startin to think Florida. place looks like swiss cheese on bing maps. wouldn't know where to start

The back of Big-O's Rage Boat, wherever it may be! :D

Falcon Lake!!!! If you want to catch hawgs all day.

For a trophy Bass, I would suggest:

1. Falcon, Tx

2. Okeechobee, Fl

3. Fork, Tx

The best bass fishing location in North America is WHERE EVER YOU ARE FISHING.

That's right. Where ever you are fishing is the best spot in the world.

Just go out and enjoy the beauty of nature and have some fun. :)

Nome, Alaska. for a challenge

Come down to the Florida phosphate pits

Dont mess with the green fish..... Hit Lake St.Clair in the spring or fall for a nice 50+ fish day of giant Smallies. Let me know if you need a guide

I'm a little surprised no one has really touted Lake Okeechobee. The FLW record was set last February by Brandon McMillan at 106# for four days and since the water has come up in October, if you don't have 25# you shouldn't bother to weigh in. The FLW tournament in February will be an absolute slugfest and I think 4-5 will come in in excess of 100#s. And, your time frame of Jan/Feb is complete prime-time for the Lake

It's gonna take a lot more than 25# per day to be "the best in the US." My club had 25# on Champlain, and that's in NY/VT.

Took the words right outa my mouth. If you want a trophy bass, go with a trophy hunter. Big O, I hope you're going to Roadtrip Guntersville!

I'm biased simply because of the area I live in and how "I" like to fish. To me, there isn't much more fun than to be out on Okeechobee. I freakin absolutely love that place. Big grass, big bass. Or you can go out there and just get completely blanked. It's getting better and better right now too.

Revived from the dead thread... gotta be Clear Lake or the Cal Delta.

This is a fun thread. I think it comes down to Lake Okeechobee or Falcon. On the TV show "Scott Martin Challenge", Scott fished Okeechobee while another pro fished Falcon. Scott caught a 34lb bag that day

...and LOST!

The Texas pro caught a 37lb bag.

Okeechobee cranks out bag limits like no other. Half the field will have +20lb bags in the elite series event there this year. Big O doesn't have the density of double digit fish that those Texas lakes have though. As much as it pains me to say it, to answer the topic of this thread (top trophy LMB destination), I would probably say 1.) Falcon 2.) Okeechobee.
