Would you rather. . .

Seeing as I have never caught three 3lbers in a day nor have I caught a 9lber, I will gladly trade my nine 1lbers for either scenario.

It's all about perspective for sure!  Hang in there, the bigger fish will come along... ;)

I'd be fine with the 9, small or large, but a 9 lb smallie? You'd hear me Iaconelli'ing it on the east coast.

IDK if this had been posted before but would you rather catch three, three pounders or one nine pounder? I personally would rather catch the nine pounder because I don't catch many fish that break five pounds so my adrenaline would be pumping for a few days after.

9 pounder  ...... uh, why so small ? :-?

I'll make it more challenging. A six and three pounder, or a nine pounder?

How is that more challenging?  9 pounder  all day.

Here's two sixers (6-8 and 6-0) caught within two hours.  Part of a 20+ lb. sack for the day.

A 9 pounder. I'd be so pumped that I probably wouldn't be able to sit down the rest of the day.

For me - it would still be a 9 pounder, especially since my PB LMB is only 7-12.

Two days ago I got 7 bass for a total of 23.41lbs; best 5 were 19.51lbs; the heaviest two fish were 5.31 and 4.87...........I'd trade 'em all for a 9 pounder !

Now, if I already had a PB higher than 9, I might go for the more action....

The implication is that a 9 lber could/would be caught.  If that were the case, I'd go for the 9 lb fish.  But in my waters where a 9 lb bass is less common than an honest Chicago politician (but only slightly) I'd have to realistically settle for the three 3 lbers.

Still not even close...

In 2010 my biggest bass was 8.5lb, while catching 14bass over 5 lb.

A nine pounder is hard to come by (even in Florida). It's worth WAAAYYYYY more than a 6 and a 3.

9# is pretty special, Absolutly

It depends on where you're fishing I guess. Here in the Northeast a 9lber is almost unheard of and I would take a 9 lb bass over 5 5lbers easy. It would be a fish of a lifetime.

I would definitely take the 9 pounder any day of the week  ;)

The nine, definetly! It would be my PB.

no doubt, I'd take the 9 pounder. but I'd also take what I could get.....

Nine-pounder for sure.

On February 8th, I answered this question theoretically. Yesterday (February 22) I caught my first 9 pounder (9.06).

...my answer is STILL the nine pounder for SURE! :D

I'd take one nine pounder over 30 three pounders.

Amen!

I'll take any fish right about now.

I think hell may officially freeze over. I'm gonna say it...

I agree with BC.

;D

Nine..... No question. A nine pound Northern Strain?? I'd take that over a 10lb Florida anyday!

How about this...One day of fishing you can have 3 nine pounders or 1 ten pounder, which do you choose?

This question is obviously directed to those who reside/fish in a different universe than me.  Since my largest bass is just over 6 lbs (and I've been fishing for 35 years), I'll just be happy if I remain healthy enough to keep fishing.

Same here. I've never caught a single 8, much less a 9...but as long as we're playing make-believe...

;)
