One of the best tattooed smallies I've ever personally seen. A 4 pounder from Milford Lake Kansas. Maybe not the greatest colored but how can you be mad at a smallmouth with a gut like this? 5 poun

Just a few of my better ones from upstate New York in '08....not the Great Lakes! All are 5+ with the biggest being just under 6 on my Berkley scale. I have a bunch more but they are "self portraits" and very poor quality.

I fish all over in NY... often at the St. Lawrence River and the lakes around Jefferson County. I get out on Ontario once and a while too. I've never fished those Adirondack lakes or the Mohawk but look forward to checking them out. So many spots so little time!

Here is my PB a smallie taken from the Greenbrier River, we are blest here in WV between the Greenbrier and the New River we have untold miles of prime smallie habitat. However a 4 lb smallie here is a bigun and 5lb almost unheard of. BTW the fish was right at 4lbs and was 19.5 inches long, caught in July, long after the spawn and the temp in the river was high, and the fish were somewhat stressed.

You know as I sit here and look at the pictures that fish sure doesn't look like a 4lber.  My goal this year was to break the 4lb barrier, when I caught the fish I remember thinking that I finally broke the barrier, the scale read 4.1lb, but after looking again I  may have to recalibrate my scale!!!!
