Trying out the Craws for the first time.  Trying to determine if I should Texas right them with a Spot Remover or regular (pegged or unpegged). Also, if not a Spot Remover, what size and type of hook would you recommend?

The Rage Tail website has all the information you will need for any of the Rage Tail line up baits.  The forum there, "Rage Talk," has a slew of information about fishing each of the rage baits with some interesting innovative rigging ideas from a great group of helpful people.  In short you can Texas rig them, fish em on a stand up jig head(spot remover), use em as a jig trailer, weightless, top water (buzzbait), or on a swim bait/keel weighted hook.  I prefer a 4/0 Gamma Superline EWG hook.

Any 3/0 EWG hook and a 1/8 oz. unpegged worm weight. Rig it tex-posed up through the slotted side and out the non-slotted side. Drag it, don't hop it. You'll be amazed!

The most popular is Texas rigged using a bullet weight from 1/8 oz to 1 oz depending on the amount of wind and water depth when fishing. ¼ oz is standard. For casting with a drag and stop, or lift and fall retrieve, an un-pegged weight is very popular. For flipping or pitching in brush or trees, a pegged weight is advised to keep the bait and weight together which helps you to better navigate the structure as well as provide a more vertical presentation.

I trim 1/2 - 1in. off the tail before rigging.
