How Big Is This Bass?

Featured Replies

Anyone have any guesses on how big this bass was?

Caught it yesterday using a weedless watermelon horny toad.

Threw it on top of a big patch of lily pads and she couldn't resist it. :)

5lbs

5 or so. you don't look very happy about it in your pic though.

big enough to warrant a nice digital scale.

Pictures are near impossible to judge from! 4-6 pond range. Nice fish regardless a 20 dollar scale is worth every penny. ;)

Scales are very worth it. I have three.

It is hard to judge with nothing to compare it to. Might be 4lbs, might be 8lbs depending on how you hold it. I've got pictures of me holding 2lb fish way out to the camera and they look like 5lb fish (I always delete those and never try to pretend they really were 5 pounders ;) ) Like others said, buy a scale, it's a very worthy investment.

I'd call it an 8 pounder since you look like you go about 6'6" and 245 yourself. (Nearly all my friends catch 8 pounders when I'm not around to see them do it.) :)

I have one.

I forgot to bring it that day though.

I got a Boga Grip. :)

When you put your pants on in the morning grab your boga grip & hook it into a belt loop. Handy way to keep it nearby but out of your way when fishing. Nice fish!

My cousin has supposidly caught several bass over 7lbs. (in MN 7lbs. is huge). Its always been when hes alone or with his wife and she will vouch for anything he says.

aha that's no 5# fish..more like 8

However much she weighs she sure is a beaut. What was your set up to bring in a hog like that?

Very true! Get a scale and you'll know it was a great investment in no time!

id say maybe 6 1/2 max

no less than 5

anyways congrats on the catch man! :D

how could anyone say thats only 5 pounds ? Get real

Did you measure it? If so I have a chart we used on Lake Fork for an internet, friendly tournament that will come really close.

That fish is well over 5 lbs. Could be as much as 8.

hahahaha the kid ain't even anywhere close to this measurements....the fish however, I will agree with you on the 8 pound mark!
