What websites do you guys use to check the weather in your area?

I use weather.com, but was wondering if there wasn't something out there that was more local?

I use Iwindsurf.com for wind reports before I head out on lake erie. Also use off shore marine forecast & local weather station.

weather.com's map is better than accuweathers map more sophisticated imo

wunderground.com It's often different from weather.com, so I get a better picture of what the weather might do.

that sounds like really good advice Catt. the lake where I normally fish is about 20 miles away, and for whatever reason, seems to have different weather pattern than where I live. Often times it is raining/storming there, and bright and sunny here.

Thanks to all who answered. I have bookmarked several of these sites and will most likely use the "look at several of them and take the average" approach.

BTW, rain doesn't bother me, but lightning does.

When I used to bluewater fish offshore, an EPIRB unit and WX Station.were part of my permanent boat gear

The WX Receiver is a little single-band radio that's tuned to NOAA Weather.

Marine forecasts are broadcast 24 / 7, which is toggled On & Off by a press-bar.

In landlocked waters though, I'll use whatever household device happens to be in front of me, the PC or the TV:

Unfortunataly, no weather station can boast reliable accuracy.

I normally take a consensus of several forecasts, but still watch the sky all day.

Wunderground and Windguru (similar to what Dwight posted).

I use the weatherchannel app on my phone.

I also look at the almanac for info on the best fishing days and times. To me it seems accurate most of the time.

Weather bug on my phone

Checking the weather is the first thing I do each morning before heading out. My first stop is always the ocean or ICW so the marine forecast gets special attention. I need tide information, swell direction, wind direction and velocity, how I determine what species I'm targeting along with the location I'm headed for and the tackle I'm taking with me. I may check a forum or online reports to see what's happening where. I never decide yesterday where I'm fishing today.

It's 3:15 am and I'm leaving very soon to go fishing, still haven't decided where I'm going.
