im thinking about getting some braided fishing for my jig and worm rod whats a good brand to use

Power Pro is decent and affordable. Suffix 832 and Samurai are arguably better handling but a little more expensive.

I have power pro on several reels right now.

X2 I am leaning towards the 832 in my experience with both of them

832 is smoother but power pro holds its color longer.power pro is alot cheaper too.

I really like Momoi's Diamond Braid.

I use spiderwire stealth braid. For the price I have no complaints.

My dad uses the invisibraid and loves it ive handled it before and its smooth but it doesnt seem popular on here.

Ive been using Samurai and Suffix performance.

If you don't have much money , go with power pro.

Whatever ya'll do, DON'T use berkley fireline! It's awful. Way too hard to trim, knots don't tie well with it, and it doesn't handle well. Just my $0.02 By the way though, Berkley DOES make awesome products, just not when it comes to their braided lines.

I have 20# SPB but the stuff is very noisy sounds like a violin while reeling just rubbing my fingers over it feel a bit rough. I dont use it much because of this. Ive used PP for years and never had this type of noise issue. The only good thing was SPB was on clearance at Dick's and got 300yds for $10.

Power Pro is one of the roughest braids made. Even the lowly Suffix is not as rough. Bias or uninformed has a lot to do with one's preference.

I've tried many of the braids. Some have certain advantages over others. The braid that works best for me (at this point LOL) is Sufix 832.

My comparison is from 20# of both makes PP-SPB and on the same rod, St Croix Premier, SPB is much louder. I also have Stren Sonic Braid and SPB is louder than that but the Sonic Braid is just 8#. The thing with Sonic braid it seemed to have more coating on it than either PP or SPB and the coating built-up on tne line guide of baitcaster. A squirt of line conditioner took care of that.

All braid sucks, it's a matter of one sucking less than the other. I've been fishing Seaguar Kanzen and have found it superior to any other braid I've fished. It's the least noisy and most abrasion resistant that I've found. It's not fast to fade, either, and it's got reasonable diameters. It also ties very good knots without resorting to using glue, as some would have you do.

As far as I'm concerned braided lines need only do 2 things for me, a good strong knot and the ability to handle fish without breaking. Any noise from the line is no issue for me, I really pay no attention. I've purchased only 1 product that I did not care for, that was 5 years ago so I would try it again. As for now I'm pleased with what I'm using, especially if it's on sale.
