good ole trusty beetle spin is the way to go.

i could catch a BG or any panfish on them, and at least its still a fish.

and, i have taken many larger bass on them as well.

...their usually a last ditch effort, but i still highly regard them as they have produced literally hundreds of fish for me over the years.

...so say what you will about a crappy 1 dollar beetle spin,

If I'm just looking to get the skunk out of the boat,

I'll normally bottom-crawl a finesse worm on a 1/8oz T-rig Jig.

Among the finesse worms I might choose would be a strike king 3x finesse worm,

Roboworm zipper worm or gambler giggy stick.

Live bait. Catch some of anything.

I will go to an x-rap xr10 in either silver or olive green. I will start out fishing it very slow with a sharp jerk and like a 5 second pause. if that doesn't work then I will get very aggressive with it. I will give it a very hard sharp jerk with barely enough pause for me to reel in the slack as quickly as I can for the next jerk. your forearms get quite a work out.

I will go with a Shakey head or a Drop shot and work it painfully slow.  So slow I will eat 1 or 2 peanuts in between twitching the rod.  Peal the peanut out of the shell eat it and then twitch it.

Used this same technique to teach myself to fish a jig.  Laugh all you want it worked for me.

I have a few, the LC RC 0.5 in the Ghost color ripping it through shallow weeds. If there is shallow matted grass flip through the trash. I also like a 3" Senko or Dinger attached to a 1/16 oz Gopher Mushroom jighead, with a small hook this is surprisingly weedless and I will guarantee this will get rid of the skunk. A drop shot with a Roboworm leech or as already mentioned a slowly fished shakyhead would also be great options. For these finnesse application light line and long cast are very important in clear water with clear skies and no wind blowing.

I throw a Mepps on and fish for some bluegill.

I will have to try fishing the lipless crank bait some more but its tough to get confidence in a new bait under those conditions.

ok I don't mean to higjack the thread but i have to ask,

some of you have suggestions for when the times are tough while at  the water, why not start the day throwing the lures you use when times are thought?

what I mean is if the lipless crankbait and the t-rig are such good producer for you guys, why not start the day using that lure?

what are you using before then?
