I was at BPS last night and saw the Slug-Go's but talked myself out of buying them has anyone used these and had them work? or they a waste of money?

I remember all the hype when they came out.  Slug-gos were the hottest thing you could buy.  

I wouldn't call them a waste of money.  I've caught many fish with them, but these days I have other preferences for that kind of bait.

I like flukes and lake fork tackle magic shads.

What size magic shad you use and what size hook?

Slug-Gos still work. Rig them correctly and you can walk the dog just under the surface. Rig it with a slight bow to it like a banana and it comes to the top and still walks the dog. Plus alot of guys have forgotten about it. I use Flukes and Zeros but still use Slug-Go's and Fin-S Fish. Great baits.

Dude a slug go is killer. I personally will fish it before I will a fluke. The only downside to them is the lack of colors. they have the basics, but I personally would like to see a zoom type color selection. Do not know if it really matters to the fish but I bet they would sell more. They are so versitile it is ridiculous. Weightless Tx rigged is my preffered.Fish it from top to bottom.

I absolutely love them. I think a lot of people have gotten away from them and gone to the fluke style baits. I fish both all the time. Some times a fluke will kill them, then other days the Slug-Go is ticket.

I like them carolina rigged.

It's the only "fluke" I fish.

plus they come in every size you could possibly want. I saw some at BPS that were anywhere from 12-24 inches long, they were monsters.

They work better than flukes in some of the ponds that I fish in.

I really like them. Have even caught fish in almost muddy water with very low visibility on them, without rattles or wild colors. The action of a Slug-Go does it all. Tying it on with a loop knot makes it dart even more.

Some lures dont look like much in the package or on the shelf, but really come to life in the water, and the Slug-Go is one of them.

Sluggos rock. They have a somewhat more lively action than a fluke, but they don't cast as far nor sink as fast. If your fishing shallower water or need a slower fall, that is a plus.

I've got a pretty good sized bag full of Sluggo's.  Plenty of good colors too, got them back when they had more colors available.  Also have the Culprit version though I forgot what they called them.  A really terrific spring time bait.

Even the tiny 3" version on a #2 EWG has it's place in my finesse bag!!

They have consistently caught bigger fish for me over the years than the SuperFluke / Bass Assassin types.  

Tho I noticed Zoom now has an upsized version of the Fluke.   I must try.

My favorite "fluke" by far!  Since my fishing is split between bass fishing and saltwater fishing, the Slug-Go is a staple in all of my fishing as it works perfectly for both situations.  It's one of the best lures you can use on the flats here for reds, snook, and trout, when the grass grows up and mats in the shallows, and that makes them great for bass too!

Rig a black 3" this way, with 6lb. test, with a splitshot 18-24"

above the hook. Pre/post spawn, bass killer ! ........ :-X
