Looking at getting a reel for jig fishing.

Which would you pick, The Zillion is $75.00 more.

The Zillion is a little faster, and a little smoother. The Curado has more drag power out of the box. Either would suit you fine.

I use a zillion for my jig rod and love it.

Personal preference and budget, both are good reels.

This will sound weird to some, but I would prefer the Curado in that situation. I actually prefer a less smooth reel for contact baits, and I'm not really sure why.

For jig fishing the rod is a lot more important than the reel. Either reel will be fine. If you don't have the rod, go with the less expensive reel and spend more money on the rod.

If you already have the rod, being a Daiwa man, I'd go with the Zillion. Like J said, it will be a bit faster, a bit smoother, but also a bit heavier.

I would go with the Curado based on those 2 choices.

I have a few of the E7's and they work great for bottom contact baits for me. It's really personal preference though, either of them will work just fine so go with the one that you like best!

I flip/pitch with a curado e7. Never had a problem with it for that technique. Drag power is solid even with braid and a heavy stick. Easy handling, can skip or pitch lighter lures smoothly (no problems with backlashes like pitching with a cheap reel)

However,

I have never tried the zillion reels.

E7 all the way!!! I only fish Shimano's though is the reason for my opinion,never fished a Zillion...

I will agree that the rod is more important than the reel for jig fishing. However, I have a Zillion 50th on my main jig setup and will always vote for the Zillion platform. They just feel amazing in my hand, despite the weight. All the Zillion variants are solid reels that feel smooth and connected on the retrieve, and some are better than others.

Another vote for the zillion, based on my personal preference.
