The Bug is a Rage Tail version of the RI Sweet Beaver, but it has MUCH better action!

Hey Guys,  Haven't been on here in a million years but, since I've been away I've had some luck. All these fish were weighed and released. The picture at night was at Chickasaw Gardens. 7lbs

  • Saw this one crash the bank on some shad. He took the squarebill in two casts. It was so windy, I had to cast it inland to get it to fall in his zone a few feet off the bank. 3.2lbs, Johnson-fountains

  • Recent catches since Sunday. Top-3.8, bottom left-3.6, bottom right-2.9. All on t-rigged worms of different colors, all between 8:30am and 10:30am. Johnson Park ponds.

Thanks. How did you rig it - with a weighted hook as shown?

Like RW said the snakes are heavy in there.. I try to fish em every once in a while but I get paronoid after awhile I try to fish it in winter because of the snakes...

I had some luck a few weeks ago at Grove which I posted on this thread a few pages back.

Last weekend I caught a few on The Bug.

That's sounds pretty good, I'm thinking about going to the Grove Friday afternoon if anyone wants to meet up

Anyone tried any of the Collierville Johnson Park ponds lately?

Have not tried Johnson Park lately, but he daycare pond has not produced much in the last couple of weeks.

Fished Neshoba a few hours this morning. One other guy there also. Caught several between us in the under 2 lb size on green worms. No takers for a spinnerbait or lipless crankbait.

Any other updates from the local gang?

Quiet bunch! No one beating the banks lately?

I caught the biggest bass of the year for me today at 1:45.

As coincidence would have it I am writing a review on the Okuma TCS-C-691MH/ Helios Air.

I set the fish next to the rod & reel for the PERFECT promotional pic and my phone camera

would not work!

Three more today on a NorthStar Original Swim Jig (bluegill)/ Rage Tail Menace

So you're giving the Rage Bug a rest or did you lose your last one? :)

Is this where we say "pics or it didn't happen?" Kidding aside, that stinks. Last year we hiked a peak and when we got to the top, the camera didn't work. Managed to get a crappy cell phone pic.

I have been hitting the Memphis ponds hard for the last 30 days and don't have much to show for it. Revisited your stickied thread and switched to the green senko last weekend which promptly produced a 3lb fish. You must have some other students... the ONLY color of 5" senko that is out of stock at BPS is the watermelon with black flakes.

Hello fellow hoppers, I'm new to the site but Memphis native. I have caught my some of my biggest fish because of this post and thank each and everyone of you for the info on local ponds. Caught this fellow at daycare pond few weeks ago.

Nice fish. What did you catch it with?

The Bug has been VERY effective, but I just like to mix it up a bit.

RW - is the Bug best fished Rage Rigged in the local shallow water ponds?

Caught him on a watermelon red baby brush hog.

Here's a few from my secret honeyholes round town, all caught this year

Well, I have had good luck with The Bug Rage Rigged and T-rigged.

I have a prefernce for the Rage Rig in the local ponds just because

it avoids the gunk growing on the soft bottoms better.

:fishing-026:

Thanks. When t-rigged, weightless or bullet weight?
