To All My Memphis Pond Hoppers!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I am new to the forum and wanted to learn more about the local "HotSpots" in the Memphis area.  Can't wait to tell future fish stories and share information with all of you!

My fishing partner and I will be going out Monday in the A.M., so hopefully we will pull in some that are worth a story.

Talk to you soon,

Wes

Hey Guys,  Haven't been on here in a million years but, since I've been away I've had some luck. All these fish were weighed and released. The picture at night was at Chickasaw Gardens. 7lbs

  • Saw this one crash the bank on some shad. He took the squarebill in two casts. It was so windy, I had to cast it inland to get it to fall in his zone a few feet off the bank. 3.2lbs, Johnson-fountains

  • Recent catches since Sunday. Top-3.8, bottom left-3.6, bottom right-2.9. All on t-rigged worms of different colors, all between 8:30am and 10:30am. Johnson Park ponds.

Greeetings! You will find that everyone on here will welcome you with open arms. Don't be afraid to ask anything!

How's the bite at grove this morning? I should be there shortly

Did anyone do well this week? I got out for an hour tues with no luck been to busy to hit grove again

Had one hit at grove on a buzzbait in about an hour and a half but that's all. Everything else I caught near my house in lake forest but they were no bigger than the popper I was using haha

I dont even know about it.

Yeah I had no idea about that either. Quite curious though myself

Fished Daycare Pond a couple hours early today. Caught 2 small bass on a black Senko. Anyone had any luck here or at the Civic Center lately?

Caught a nice one this morning on a Siebert Outdoors 3/8 oz Big O jig (PBJ)/ Rage Craw (PBJ)

I went to the grove last Sunday and didn't catch a thing.  Was wondering if there was a certain spot where you all like to fish a?.  I walked the concrete track all the way back to the little cove area and couldn't get a thing to bite.  Just wasn't my day I guess

I've got the next 6 days off for a little staycation so if the weather is reasonable I'll be hopping a bunch over the 6 days. If anyone wants to get a line wet let me know!

Met up with a few members today at Grove: Jamie, Doug and George.

The fishing was slow, but we had good conversation!

I have given up on Grove completely. Consistently non-productive for me and everyone I fish with. Fished a private pond near Oakland this morning, the 3 of us caught about 20 fish, mostly small. One of the other guys hooked into a monster but it managed to throw the hook at the bank. Dude is still angry about it.

Always a good time with Kent, thanks again for the Recon worms. Pleasure meeting Jamie as well. The Grove has been slow lately, no doubt, but i dont have a private pond to fall back on :(

Good to see everyone and to meet new Grovesters (thunderstorm or not!). Two weeks ago on an early morning outing I bagged 3 nice ones (2 in the 4-6+ lb range) within about 20 minutes on a black weightless Senko. Unusually good bite on for me that day, but plenty to keep Grove on my radar!

Any good bites for anyone at Neshoba lately?

Another tough morning at Grove today. One bite on a Senko but nothing on a Rage Toad or swim jig. Have to admit though that it was fun fishing the Toad for the first time, but it would've been more fun with a LMB crushing it!

Anyone know anything about central park in southaven,MS? I hear its descent fishing

Hit the large pond by the mulch piles south of Shelby Farms last night. This is right by the paintball place, south of the Walnut Grove/Farm Road intersection. Huge amount of topwater activity visible all across the pond, but didn't have a single hit. The smell back there is not so awesome.

Fished that once. Caught quite a few 1-2lb range. Also got one 4.5lber. Caught a few gar. They are plentiful in there. Also saw a few jumping carp.

I may get our early tomorrow, but it's been so hot lately im sure its worth the time.

Anyone familiar with any river fishing in the region with canoe rentals?

Spring River and tributaries. Noted mostly for trout, but a good population of smallmouth and once in awhile a surprise

Muskie. AR state record is from this river.

Hello everyone, ran into this site searching for ponds n lakes to fish, n all of them that r mentioned are good. I like to fish the grove but hate seeing people keep their catch, since the pond isn't stocked, its all natural.

If any of you guys are duck hunters I have decoys for sale, $5 apiece.

I'm not sure how many I have, but it's around two dozen.

Hey guys

New to the forum, I met Kent (roadwarrior) at Grove Park a few weeks back and mentioned to him that I had been lurking here for a while. (And watched him pull in a monster..)

Well time to join in! I live about 3 minutes from Grove Park so I visit it quite often. I've probably fished it about 15 or so times over the past two months. I finally caught my first bass in that pond last Saturday. I'd estimate about a 4 pounder. I will agree that there are some great fish in there, they are just very picky about what they bite. I caught mine on a clear minnow swimbait... going to continue to fish it as the weather cools off. Hope to see some of you guys out there.

Will

P.S. Kent, I have a picture of you holding your big ole' bass (8 lbs?), wasn't sure if you got a good one or not, but I'd be happy to either post it or send it to you.

I think that fish is the same bass that was caught and weighed last month.

The claim is 9 1/2 lbs. I will send you my contact info in a PM. Thank you!
