If you could have the ultimate, no expense spared, all-purpose baitcasting rod and reel, what would it be (name and model of each)?

NRX 893 with a Core 100MG7

x2 on the NRX 893 with a Core 100MG7

I do use a M/H 7' custom rod built on a Shikari blank with a Shimano Antares DC for all around use.

MBR842C/ Core 50MG

But...I have not fished the NRX version.

St Croix Legend Extreme 7' Medium power/fast action, with a Shimano Core 51MG..............untill I win the lottery I have to settle for my poor mans version of this combo, my Legend Tournament 7' M power/fast act. and Curado 51E

That works, except I like my Zillion on that rod.

LMAO that's awesome!!! Spongebob model works well too ;-)

The one I just set up. Customized Kistler Z-Bone Heavy action with a Shimano Chronarch 201 e7.

I'm making a committment to become more rounded with my techniques this season, but I promise there will be days where I pick up that rod and spend all day pitching isolated bank cover with 20 pound fluoro and a Northstar Premier jig or one of my homemade camo-craw jigs.

Is it summer yet?

I don't have much experience with top-end gear. Can you just send me the cash and let me get back to you? :)

I would like to try an NRX 853 and the new Daiwa T31016SHL to start.

Calcutta te dc, on a custom rod. No idea what type rod, just something custom built for me.

My second choice.

I suspect every rod & reel combination you own is a "close second"!

X2 on the Z-Bone, but I'm a Revo fan, so I'd go with a Revo MGX.

I like the REVOs too and I'd actually probably prefer them. As soon as they come out with the 7.9:1 MGX in a left-hand model, I'm going to be replacing the Chronarch with that.

Gotta be my newest and most ba combo yet. Dobyns DX702c with an airy red pixy. It is a finesse machine!

for me it would be megabass white python rated for 3/8-4 oz paired with daiwa z 2020

I'll bet if we traded one for one between us it would be a draw. :laugh5:

Rod would be a custom built 7'MEF with micros Just like the one I built but with some killer wraping...

My Core 50 with Carbon drag & Boca's

This is my choice also. I actually have this setup TE 200 DC. I use it on a Loomis MBR844C spiral wrapped custom.

Ronnie

I know this is for baitcasters but dont have a fondness for them For me it would be a Stella 2500 on a custom rod 6'10 MF

A Revo MGX with a Ducket rod. I have a Duckett rod and absolutely love it.
