How do each of you glue in weedguards? I tried using gorilla glue yesterday (my first few jigs I've ever made), and its ok, but far from perfect. It expands and foams, and I dont like that. Do you have a better way?

I like to use my base hole pin and make the hole slightly larger by wiggling it, then use Loctite gel superglue. That stuff is FANTASTIC!!

Super Glue Gel is all I ever use. Be sure to use it sparingly.

I use the same epoxy that I use as a top coat. I simply mix a small batch of Devcon 2 ton 30 minute epoxy and glue my weedguards in with that. If I don't want to epoxy the entire jig then I use the loctite super glue gel, be careful not to use plain super glue as it will wick up the fibers on you.

Another vote for Loctite Gel superglue.

I prefer it over epoxy just for the faster setting time.

There are no magic lures and the fish don't care how much you paid for your gear.

I have tried super glue gel and epoxy. But i have found that Fly Head Cement is easiest. Just find a sewing needle, stick the head of the pin in the cement, then stick the pin in the weedguard hole and spread the cement. It will be solid in a few minutes. Make sure you wipe the pin head off with a paper towel or else the cement will dry and build up.

Epoxy is the best choice for wet/underwater adhesive. Super Glue themselves recommend epoxy for this application.

This is how I do it as well. The only time I topcoat is for swim jigs that are painted not powdercoated.
