spot remover - trick worm
Spotaholic is one of the few guy on the Buckeye Prostaff. He primarily fishing the 1/8oz on spinning tackle. He likes the slow fall to. Both are great. I would suggest getting a box of 1/4 and one of 1/8. Because the 3/16 is not much different than the 1/4.

spot remover - trick worm
I prefer the 1/4oz because I like to fish them with fast fall. There are a couple different kinds of Spot Remover the original is the one with the threaded peg and the Pro Model that has the cork screw. There is also the Magnum that has a thicker wire hook for the super lines. There is a couple of key things to remember. In order to get it to stand up when it hits the bottom you have to let it fall on a slack line. When you get a bite, set the hook quickly and streight up like a regular jig. Spmetimes when it stops on a limb it sometimes feel like you have it hung up. It can be difficult to get it over the limb by lifting up on the rod. Instead, point the rod tip directly at the lure and put streight back. It will pop off. If you have any other question let me know.

Shakey Head Question
The Alabama Rig. Yep they stole that name from our very own Triton Mike who developed a topwater rig many years ago that was called the Alabama Rig. So we started calling it the Bama Rig. To answer your question. "Shaky Head" started out as just a rig and has turn into a technique that you use with a jighead worm. Basspro48, Although the Spot Remover is a super Shaky Jig. That is not what it was origionaly designed for. It was origionally designed by Dr Roy Autman for fishing those no cover banks and dropoffs. It is a hopping jig. You hop it around and let it fall on a slack line. But it has evolved into a great jighead for heavy cover, shaking, bed fishing (with a Craw), and deadsticking. Sence being introduced to the Spot Remover I have boated will over 1000 bass with it. It will always be tied onto a rod on my boat.

Cavitron buzz bait by Megastrike ??????????????
Rumor has it that one of our well known members has designed a buzzbait that fishes better than a Cavitron. I believe him only because he has always said that the Cavitron is the best buzzbait out there. So keep your eyes and ears open for when he starts selling them. Hopefully it will be sometime this year. If not I will be stealing some out of his boat for sure. I haven't gotten permission to tell you who he is yet.

Fishing is LOSING Popularity?
2001 was six years ago. ESPN didn't start airing bass fishing untill 2003. Those numbers are not current. I don't know why they didn't report on the last six years. It sounds like a story to fit an agenda.

Bass pro's edorsements, the same or modified?
Of course they are modified. Tiger Woods has new clubs made custom for him all the time and they have the Nike emblem on them. When Nike or any other golf club company is designing a new club they always ask their pros for input on the design. I would hope that the professional bass fishermen are pushing the envelope of rod and reel design buy having them modified and taking that knowledge back to the companies they represent to help in the design of the next generation of rods and reels to be places on the shelves. If they weren't doing that we would still be fishing with cane poles and a cork. Like auto racing is the proving grounds for new ideas in automotive parts. Professional bass fishing has to be the proving grounds for new fishing innovations and ideas.

2nd annual BR.com roadtrip!!!
I've done hours of research on traditional lures and what has been catching the Sharelunkers on fork. I've come up with the short list of lures. First of all I am bringing a couple of heavy rods for flipping and bed fishing, but that is not my main plan. I am planing on fishing for staging fish due to the possibility of a cold front like last year. The list of lures are. Watermelon Red Super Fluke - Dead Sticking Watermelon Red or Green Pumpkin Sinko - Dead Sticking Red Lipless Crankbait - Search bait and working across grass flats and along creek channels. 1/2oz Black and Blue Jig - For flipping 3/8oz Spot Remover - For working the dropoffs close to spawning flats. A white spinnerbait w/ tandom willow leaf blades is not on my list because I have no confidence in them but they should be on anyones list who likes them.
