  1. id look around before you buy that rod. they are heavy and the powerhump isnt comfortable at all. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_50929_100002000_100000000_100002000_100-2-0 http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_285_100002000_100000000_100002000_100-2-0 theres 2 rods to think about. take your time picking a rod, youll be glad you did. the Revo S will serve you well.
  2. hooked my daughter early in the trip. ;D ;D ;D ;D she was a trooper though, she let me turn the hook out and cut the barb. did manage one small fish before guilt got me off the water.............lol.
  3. i did. ive had faster boats and the extra speed didnt do much for me. the only dislike i have for the basic boat is the 12v trolling motor.
  4. http://www.nitro.com/boat/?boat=3107 that one.
  5. i used PVC garage door jam material to replace my runners.
  6. listing city, state and or area you plan to fish helps a ton! ;D ;D ;D
  7. im really, really trying to break that habit.
  8. the Storm Thin Fin is a good non-rattle shallow bait. my old man killed me in the back of the boat last night using a #4.
  9. who was driving the boat?
  10. If it's 23" then yea, but just by the picture alone, I would say it's about 18" or 19" which makes me think it's about 3-4 lbs. its hard to tell. the mouth of the fish is small and you cant see the whole fish. this fish is also just over 23" and its mouth was just big enough for me to put a closed fist through.
  11. what RM said. ive put a few hours in on the MOJO rod i have getting the grip to feel like im not going to drop the rod when im making longer casts. the rod its self i like, the grips not so much.
  12. i would get on ebay, search for Daiwa, Abu, Shimano, Plueger and break your searches down to baitcaster and look for reels with 5 bearings. when you find something interesting post the model here and see what some of the ppl here think about the unit. its not uncommon to find a great piece at a good price if you dont mind a little boat rash.
  13. Yeah me too... At least 2 lbs, maybe three. :-X lol. You crack me up! ;D lol not to hyjack this thread but....what do you guys think? the bait is a DT-6 if that helps....... ;D ;D ;D
  14. my honest answer is ive broke 3 since the beginning of last year. but, ive quit fishing them in the places where i know im going to beat baits up. on a side note, ive never broken any other crankbait. the worst part is im sitting on $50 i made on a side job and all i can think about id buying a few DT's since its not coming from my fishing budget.
  15. Looks like a Bandit 100 series in Tennessee Shad color: http://www.toplakstackle.com/Bandit_Footloose_Tennessee_Shad_p/banfl02.htm looks like a Bagley Balsa B to me. looks like a killer bait either way.
  16. Stren, and never bigger than 12 lbs test. i do take pride though in bouncing my crankbaits off rocks though. ive never lost a bait to logs.
  17. who cares. go fishing. ive yet to see a bank fisherperson laugh at someone who has the run of the lake as they choose. when i run up on other ppl fishing the only thing i care about is how theyre doing as far as the bite goes.
  18. i keep this on my boat to make sure i dont lose my good cranks.
  19. Thanks. But understand this is how the Daiwa illness begins. You buy one becasue you've heard good things about them. Next thing you know, your addicted. Zillions are the crack of the fishing world. In just a couple of months I went from zero Daiwas to this... http://bzty5q.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pYAxw8qRwSfamXTU3pgLJWR8ZhCotadAJXPJB2A4XjizKnDRuOOqNFicPiSW3OKtrtd7XkmoT61AUv3dt1KTgOw/004.jpg bless you child ;D ;D
  20. ive broken enough to where i said id not buy them any more. with that being said im sure ill swallow my pride and buy 2 or 3 of the DT-6's i assume your broken baits look like these broken baits:
  21. thanks. i could see the bearing were an upgrade over the sol and a small weight difference but not knowing a thing about the alphas i had no idea where the butter met the bread.
