  1. it took me a while to decide where to mount my transducer as well i ended up moving the transducer up to made sure i dont knock it off loading and unloading the boat. hope the pic helps.
  2. id cancel payment through credit card and keep paypal out of the picture..
  3. went to a garage sale a few mins ago and bought grampas old tackle box for $10. the box had the following: a bunch of crap a river runt minus the box a suspending wiggle wart minus the box another old wiggle wart minus the box 2 Rapala Risto Raps still in the box. i love garage sales.
  4. i had a guy non-boating with me and as soon as we were out fishing he started telling me i was doing everything wrong. finally i handed my boat over to the guy after we fished our first spot. i put constant pressure on the guy to put me on fish. at first the man was very confident we were about to win this tourney. 4 hours later after not one fish caught he asked me if i knew of any good spots.........lol. we ended up with 2 keepers and one paper fish. we caught the fish on a spot we both decided to fish. he was scared to put the boat on plane.....lol. for as long as ive read this forum this topic has been a raging debate. if a non-boater thinks that giving me $30 gas money means he owns my boat for 4 hours thats fine, but that makes them responsible for putting me on good water.
  5. i love fishing the back of the boat when i can. the front of the boat isnt a walk in the park. take a windy day and see who does more fishing, the guy in the back who only has to fish or the guy in the front who has to hold the boat, keep the boat in pattern, keep an eye on the sonar, and find time to make well a place casts. i do have one friend that when a fish is caught we trade places. the draw back is its not just a body trading places, its a body, the bodys gear, and 5 rods. this time of the year doesnt matter as much as far as front of the boat or back goes anyhow. ive been fishing ledges and drop offs in open water which to me is more about the bait that who gets there first.
  6. Leavenworth like any other lake can be a great lake. its worth a trip. i dont do well on lone-star. late fall is one of the few times i catch fish there. if you go to leavenworth be sure to hit the ends of the dam with plastics.
  7. true. 2 bags of frozen peas and a case of beer gets the aftermath taken care of.
  8. rumor he was found dead and that he hung himself. what a shame if its true.
  9. i hate to beat a dead horse but id give a good look at the Curado 200E7. IMO its one of the best reels for the $150-$200 price range. Daiwa TD Tierra for $100-$150 price range. on a side note as far as the F-500 id wait to get those. being a new unit i would wait to make sure the quality is there. plus the fact its a heavy reel.
  10. has anyone tried the stand out hooks? they look a little small for drop shot.
  11. it will make a bulletproof swimbait reel. you might as well do the upgrade.
  12. i celebrate the whole south park library. the imaginationland trilogy comes to mind as some of their best work. cartman calling for his mother so he can take a dump in make love not warcraft is prooly my single most funniest south park take.
  13. i feel bad for Phil...............lol
  14. dont laugh but does it smell......................skunky? we have a ton of that here and my fingers alway smell like that stuff for a day or two from picking it off my crank baits.
  15. from another forum i read. http://boards.espn.go.com/boards/mb/mb?sport=outdoors/bassmaster/community&id=bassmaster&tid=4828294&lid=9
  16. i like the baits for smallies. i have a lot of WW's but these 3 get the most use: i caught 2 walleyes using the middle one yesterday........lol. 2 small bass as well.
  17. i dropped mine in the lake, took the battery out and set it under a hair dryer for 2 hours. the thing still didnt work.
  18. this is a really good read. answers a few questions. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/jig_bass_fishing.html
  19. IMO the hooks on the red eye shad are big enough.
  20. i agree. believe it or not my fav. lipless rod is a cheaper falcon original. gives the fish a chance to sink both trebles in it. for the longest time i used a 7' cherrywood that gave the fish plenty of time to catch the second treble.
  21. id still take the boat to the lake and use the trolling motor to putt around in the boat and check things. the next step is getting quotes to repair the motor.
  22. im a paper, paper, wet wipe, paper type of guy.
  23. i think a good pick of plastics would be a must. anything from worms to creature baits. from there you can rig weightless, texas, carolina, shakey and drop shot. ive always assumed if the fish are going to bite they will always bite a worm or plastic of some type.
