  1. First of all, your Quantum doesn't "perform well". None of the problems you have described are acceptable. Secondly, you can compare my brand new Shimanos to those that are ten years old and the comparison will be both "close" and fair. I have the STX on a dedicated jig rod. It is strong, smooth, silent and reliant, but the magnetic brakes are finicky and require adjustment every time out. I would never buy another. co-sign. too many choices at $200 a pop
  2. in Johnson County they never fine you for catching a trout without a license enless youre trying to catch them.
  3. good job. id love to go back to school but i dunno about being 40 and going to class.
  4. those rods are heavy. they wouldnt be bad for swimbaits.
  5. i can make you a great deal on of of those thats been used about 3 times.
  6. thats not bad at all. i hit a submerged road in my 884 savage and knocked a baseball sized chunk out from where the hull turns up to the transom. judging by the pics what you have should patch up nice.
  7. So because you had a bad experience and/or could not figure out the brakes he should stay away from one of the best reels in the industry!?! i think if you read between the lines hes saying theres many better choices for a first baitcaster on a budget.
  8. ill be impressed if that boat makes that speed. very respectable
  9. looks like a great boat. enjoy!!
  10. man that stinks. the good part is your boats on your trailer and not the bottom of the river. theres some good ppl on this forum and im sure they can help you get you boat fixed up fine. cart7 comes to mind as someone id be asking for advise.
  11. ive been out there. just didnt think 1 lbs fish would impress anyone.
  12. well, guess the itos will have to wait. i just had to have one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220405284184
  13. is everyone mounting their transducers outside of the hull?
  14. anyone ever deal with this plave? they have refurbished electronics and was wonderig if anyone ever bought from them.
  15. i agree. for a first timer id stay away from the STX and SX. the OP might think about Abu 4600 series gear. the best learning gear i can think of.
  16. im all for a good joke but if im at the lake and i see a perfect stranger laid up under my truck and messing around with it that persons day would get real exciting real quick. ;D
  17. x2 Even with a mutated strain we would be more likely to find a faster way to treat it as well. Really? Kinda like curing AIDS? : my cure is washing my hands like mad.
  18. come on. i know someone other than me has been broke and walked out with the keystone light. its not that bad.
  19. this is why we love Raul, or just one of the reasons.
  20. youll be suprised what you can talk yourself into buying. i get a few more side jobs and im going ito hunting.
  21. there are a lot of good boats out there for $5,000. if youve never had a boat your first choice might be aluminum. it was posted early a 170 or a 175 tracker. that would be my first boat anywhere from 1995 to now. theres a bunch of them out there. good luck.
  22. you knew the correct answer all along.
  23. i do. i run windows defender and update my system as needed per windows. there are as many ppl out there that think anti-virus is a waste as there are ppl out there that think you have to have it. im running both vista and xp.
