  1. we had sun all day which for the most part took the snow back. now im back to dreaming of tossing new jerk baits over the grass out at kill creek.
  2. if $50-$70 is your price range i would be looking for round abu reels on ebay, then sending them to Reel Mechanic for service. the round Abu's will never "wear out". for $120 theres a lot of choices. id do a search on this site for "Bait Caster help" and spend a lot of time reading. endless amount of info here.
  3. I bought an E7 and a Citica 200E this week for less than $250, shipped. I only "needed" one of them, but I figured I'd try them both and see if the E7 is really worth the extra $$. If nothing else, I can swap gear sets to build a Curado E6, and keep the Citica as a loaner. the funny thing is i wasnt looking to buy an E5 , i just refuse to see someone steal the unit cheap. i should have just bid once and went on to other things but didnt.
  4. i got mine for $143 shipped off ebay new in the box. not that theres anything "wrong" with the unit but id love to trade it for a good used Sol.
  5. http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/are_states_going_to_require_serial_numbers.html a good read. "Such a proposal is being pushed by a company that holds a patent on bullet-coding technology. But none of the 31 bills introduced last year ever made it out of committee."
  6. i dont see this ever happening. it sounds more like an NRA scare tactic.
  7. you might check the flea market and make sure hes not selling off any gear..............................heh
  8. has anyone tried to buy powder of late? i handload shotgun/rifles and .45acp but havent bought powder in a long time. i wonder if thats gone crazy too.
  9. this is what the kansas city area has right now... makes me want to puke.
  10. ive messed with them but ive not felt the need to drop $150 on them. im sure id never buy a casting rod, a spinning maybe.
  11. ristos and fat raps X2.
  12. when i changed the cables on my boat before i put the new cable in the tilt tube i bought a hone like the one above and got the inside of the tube nice and shiney. i used a lot of WD-40 to break down the old hardened grease. i did everything i could to make sure i didnt do anything other than shine the inside of the tube and remove the sticky gunk. a ball hone might do a better job, the 3-arm was just what i had at the time. i also installed all new grease zerks after everything was cleaned up.
  13. id say go large. btw id love to have 1 or 8 of these. http://cgi.ebay.com/Daiwa-Liberto-Pixy-Yellow-Pearl-Near-mint_W0QQitemZ280326175830QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item280326175830&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
  14. a 4600 abu. very forgiving.
  15. i quit buying rapala DT baits due to them busting. for the price they shouldnt be breaking.
  16. my son was in iraq for a short time then went to afghanistan. iraq is a walk in the park between the 2.
  17. i agree, the aluminum boat would be a good wat to go. you could spend $4,000 on the boat and have some "fix up" money left over. my boat insurance is $127 a year and i have a PUP that covers me up to 1 mill thats $157. im not sure if i seen it on this site but there was a printable check list you could take while looking at used boats to ensure you look at what should be looked at.
  18. i would say practice practice practice. the nob on the other side of the handle is your anti-backlash control. when working as it should the backlash control will help with backlash after the bait has hit the water. if youre backlashing in mid-cast you need to add spool tension. i find standing on a bucket helps because you wont bang your rod tip on the ground while practicing. start out pitching at something close and go from there.
  19. lots of threads about this rod.
  20. its not hard at all to do. i did the first set with a ruler believe it or not.
  21. the roof of my house. im one of the few, the lucky with a 3 car garage thats 38' deep.
  22. im getting ready to do another up-grade. its either going to be the greatest thing ever or the biggest waste of money.
  23. ABEC-5 Bearing 5x9x3:Stainless:Ceramic:Open
  24. its plastic. i have no idea what it is. it keeps my son away from the good stuff in my box though.
