the Revo S isnt a bad 3rd string reel. i would think its a very respectable 1st or 2nd string. keep it for a back-up. id only sell the reel if you didnt like it.

oh i want one of these. i just cant justify the price over a Daiwa Sol. use a Pixy one time and you will be able to justify the price with ease ive been watching them on ebay. im not sure about that shipping from japan stuff.

welcome to the forum, youre going to love this place. for starters id go to the local wal-mart and get yourself a middle of the line spincasting combo. id get your son a Zebco 33 combo. as far as fishing gear goes id stock up on little spinner baits, beatle spins, roostertails and plastic worms. a few cheap lipless cranks wouldnt be a bad idea either. enjoy and share you fishing trips with us!

thats all i do with my Sol is cranks. all be it smaller cranks. and i might add its one of my favorite reels.

id use the rod first.

Thanks, I will try to increase my ping and chart speed next time I head out. Any info or links on making it a "thru-hull transducer"? Tin, it moves out more then any other bass boat I have ridden in. I think realistically it 45mph but I haven't brought my GPS out yet so maybe I will be surprised... water adds about 10 mph to the feel of how fast youre going.....lol i thought i had the fastest 150 hp motor ever till i got GPS and found out i was only going 51 mph. felt like 65 mph sitting right on top of the water. still a sweet looking boat.

i got a call friday from someone with a strong middle eastern accent stating my cell phone bill was due and if i didnt pay right then over the phone it would be shut off after the call ended. oddly enough, its still working after i ended the call with them without paying the bill i didnt owe.

matters not. how the rod/reel feels is what im looking for.
