it's been hovering right under $4 for the past week. I figure it a matter of a couple days before it gets up there. My parents are kicking themselves for selling their Geo Metro when they did. Cheaply made, but at 50+ miles per gallon... it is the ultimate commuter car. I'm just glad I bought my civic when I did!!!!!

Gas has just recently started affecting my fishing now that it is over 4 bucks. I will probably just start going to lakes within an hour instead of traveling over an hour. Or I was thinking of moving closer to the big bass lakes in the state ;D

$75.... that's it. It's a few hundred here in cali.... not that I have experience or anything : . The city I live in has those cameras installed, but just recently took them out of commision because an overseas company gave them to the city for free as long as the company got a percentage of the ticket when they caught someone running a light. This company just moved to the U.S.A. and I guess there is some law stating against this now. That sucks though, that's $75 you could've spent on fishing stuff. Tough luck

I just finished a 6 pack of the amber ale, It's darn good, but I enjoy the summerale better. I feel fortunate, cause it's 6.99 for a 6 pack at the store I work at. ;D

That's good your getting back into fishing. If I were you i'd buy one of everything in every color. A fisherman can never be too prepared. As far as brands you'll get ton's of answers from everybody so here is mine with my favorite colors Jigs - Jewel's Eakins Jigs - PB+J Crankbaits - Norman - Shad Plastics - *.com Hooks - Owner or Gammakastu Jerkbait (Slashbait) - Rapala X-rap Just some basic lures there, but start out with that and see what happens. +1. This is a great way to do it when your alone. Just make sure you remember to put the plug in. or else you will come back to your boat under water. I saw a guy all alone use this technique but forgot to put the plug in. He came back and I was climbing in his boat puting my spare plug in and he was ready to kick my a** until he saw 50 gallons of water in his boat. Hopefully you don't have to much water damage. Couldn't of said it better!!! My vote is for both... on of my main fishing partners is 10X better than me, so I learn A TON when i'm with him, but other days, I don't mind being alone and using what I learned from him to help me land fish.

for those of you who like to sip a brooskie... what do you guys like. I'm getting tired of the coors, bud, corona. I work at a supermarket that has a TON of beers. So i've been trying to try new stuff. Just found a couple new ones I love. Fat Tire Eye of the Hawk Alaskan Summer Ale. Any other beers you guys LOVE!!!!

That's one way to look at it, but Santa Clara officials have had more than enough time to figure out a method to control the mussles. I don't know how long they have been here, but other lakes have had methods in effect for months and months already. Seems like santa clara has been kickin back relaxing while they should of been thinking of a better way to go about this situation other than closing all lakes. I hate to say it, but I bet you they won't have anything by the 23rd. It'll probably take longer

Man, it's getttin bad down south. It's only time before it happens here up north. This may sound like a broken record, but what the he!! is closing down a lake gonna do, especially for a couple weeks. They have already said that animals pose a greater risk of bringing in the mussel than boats do. This just get's my blood flowin. Keep us informed.

Not for me.... i shifted 90% of my finances towards fishing. Getting a dog is a great idea though... i'm sure they are cheaper.

HAHAHA, just as I was clicking on this thread, my gf came up and told me i'm too addicted to this site. HA!!!! I have the same problem. It's hard because I started my addiction about 6-12 months into our relationship, so it wasn't something that she expected. It's been years of constant complaining by her (we've been together for three years), (She's finally gotten to the point where she knows nothing will stop me from fishing) but here is my advice. 1. Don't schedule trips when both of you have a day off. 2. When I fish a lot, i'll take her out a little more often 3. I've told her this before and i'll tell her this again, I could be doing worse things then fishing. 4. I told her that if she loves me, she wants me to be happy, fishing makes me happy so quit complaining. 5. There are more fish in the sea, if she doesn't let you do what you want, there is someone else who will. Good luck!!!!! P.S. 4bizz------> :-X Thanks buddy ;D

I've killed 3 in the last 3 years that I know of, it happens, I feel bad for a little bit, but I usually get over it. Now if I killed a DD, that would be a different story, no doubt about it would I keep it and get it mounted.

That's a pretty good idea, i'm interested to see what they do with the body after they're done with it. It still amazes me that a 80 acre almost featureless lake can kick out a 20+. Gotta thank the DFG for the great bass food they plant there!!!!
