  1. I think the questions is Why are you looking at Toys R Us website : HAHAHAHA
  2. +1. Add the Cali guys to that list as well. Ice.... whats that :-/
  3. Good way to start the year. That wind has definately been crazy this year. Good luck at oroville. When is it??
  4. I use the rapala braid scissors. They work good for me. I remember some guys on here using the little kid scissors and liking them
  5. Just like everyone else, If they seem to be around 5 or over, i'll net them. The dinks i'll just lift them into the boat or lip em.
  6. 4 1/2 - 5 is my guess.
  7. Congrats man. I had a 5-5 pb once and it was the best feeling. I always got the gitters thinking about it and looking at the pictures. Glad the trap is working for you.
  8. Two is the limit for me to, usually a SB rod, and another BC'er. It also depends on where I am going, sometimes i'll stick with just one. I too hate going back and forth all the time. It gets old after awhile.
  9. Quote from Gary himself: Thanks for the concern. I got to come home a few hours ago. I am still going to out of fishing condition for a while. PLEASE wear your lifejackets and kill switches. The kill switch saved my life, no doubt about it. I was NOT wearing a life jacket. I know better, but with 35 plus years of boat driving and never having anything happen, I got lax. I was pitched hard against the port side before I went out of the boat. I do not remember hitting the boat but I broke the handles off three reels. I do remember hitting the water. I was under the water trying to fight my way to the top. I had no use of my left arm, and could hardly move. BUT, I got lucky as the boat stopped on top of me. I was a hundred yards off shore in the San Joaquin. I hit the bottom of my boat before I surfaced. Getting in the boat was a *****. I used the outboard to climb in and then I could not hardly move. A boat drove within 40 yards of me and would not stop. I would like to know who this was. It looked to have a Pepsi sticker on the side. I am not 100% sure it was Pepsi, but I think it was. Steve H. stopped to help. THANK YOU STEVE. When I was in the water I figured that I was done. What are the chances of the boat stopping on top of me? I was running around 70 MPH when I bow hooked and got ejected. I have always been lax about wearing a jacket. Thankfully I was wearing my kill switch, It saved my life. At this time I will not have to have surgery, but may have to later on. PLEASE wear your safty equipment. It may save your life. Again, thanks to all. Gary D.
  10. See the arrow??? See the gap??? See the problem??? There isn't supposed to be a gap there
  11. It's the 400. I should point out that this was fourbizz's old SB reel, he abused her pretty bad. I am way happy that shimano stands by there product like this, it makes me happy I choose shimano. RM - That's just what the guy said, He did mention the pressed in part and I was kind of suprised, I figured a part that is getting alot of pressure might be attached better.
  12. Funny you bring this up, I just had a quick conversation with a lady I work with about this today. Her point was about sticking a hook into a fish's mouth and how would I feel if I had a hook in my mouth. And how in-humane it is to the fish.I asked her if she was a member of P.E.T.A and walked away. Funny thing is that she works in a seafood department.
  13. Throwing big baits finally put it's toll on the cardiff. A local shimano guy said he's never seen it before, but talked to another shimano rep. and said that they have only seen a couple like this, they said that the cardiff is not really meant to be chucking big baits, due to the hub not being strong enough. Not complaining though, after it broke, I needed a new SB reel ASAP , so i got myself a new calcutta, and when I got back from using the new calcutta, the local shimano guy left me a message saying to send it back to shimano and they will give me a brand new one. SWEET!!!! ;D Anyone have this happen to them before.
  14. A local shop makes this: Turkey Bacon Avacado Cream Cheese Lettuce Tomato Sourdough roll Since I make sandwichs all day, they are not my favorite thing to eat.
  15. I've always said that if you buy the lure, be ready to lose the lure.... I just lost a hudd ($40) yesterday, and was ready to cry when I did it, but slowly regained myself and said ehhh.
  16. I have the 29 series in the yellow case, and I love it. It has a 1 year warranty, so every year you can take it back and get a new one. I've found no problems with mine, they last along time on 1 charge. I have a 55# MG
  17. how do you guys deal with noisy neighbors? We just got some new neighbors right below us, they are a young couple, early 20's. Everynight from they play there music, now I'm sure it isn't loud in there apartment right below us, but the bass is sooo increadably loud, you can lay on the ground and it's like getting a light back massage. Now I don't want to go straight to management and "tattle" on them because it's not happening during the "quiet hours from 10 pm - 8am. For those of you who have had a similar problem, how did you deal with it??
  18. I'm no pro, but.... to tie the mono to the braid, i use the uni-to-uni knot. It has never failed me yet. I did just learn the modified alrbright and like that for tying a leader to the braid. Way to go on the line choice ;D
  19. Here is a little update on him from a local forum. "Just spoke with Gary's wife K**** and he is still in the hospital. Gary has a compound fracture of his back with a great deal of bruising and tissue damage. He will NOT need surgery but it will take some time for recovery. Gary is still in alot of pain and pretty sedated. He is bruised pretty bad on his arm. He is aware of all the well wishes from across the country and appreciates it. He keeps telling me "d**n dude I was just figuring out how to catch them pretty good down there too" " Just thought i'd share. Glad he is alright.
  20. Can't wait to see it. What color are you going to do???
  21. THe other day when I got my 9-1, we were sitting on a point fishing out, and a troller came within 10 feet of us while we were fishing, so jay being the "nice guy" he is threw out over there lines, it was great. You should have seen them get up and set the hook, good times.
  22. Dead relative always works, but I always feel bad when I do that. Car trouble always works for me. , or any virus/bug going around i'll say i have it.
  23. This is the one I use. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0038873121351a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&No=18&noImage=0&Ntt=Rod+Racks&Ntk=Products&QueryText=Rod+Racks&Ntx=matchall&N=4887&Nty=1 I am happy with it, the only thing is that if you aren't careful when taking a rod out, you can knock all the rods off of it. I like having the drawers for misc stuff. I only have 6 combos I use all the time so it works well for me.
  24. I bought the BPS tourney baitcaster for my dad to learn on. I threw it a couple times and for a reel around $50 i loved it. I also personally own a BPS extreme series 7' MH casting rod and that thing is great. It has enough backbone to throw 2 oz baits as well. This is coming from someone who doesn't like most BPS brand stuff.
