  1. I know you can use the Storm SuspenStrips or SuspenDots to add weight to a jerkbait. Give those a try. As far as the other way around, no clue
  2. It basically is putting the worm in the fishes strike zone, instead of a t-rig on the bottom. To rig it tie on a drop shot hook and just leave a long tag end on it. Take the tag end and stick it in the hook eylet from the top to bottom and pull. Attach the DS wieght on the end. I like to have around 16-18" between my hook and weight, maybe more if the fish are higher up. When I first started dropshotting, I had a tendancy to lift the rod tip too much. I don't know about other people, but I get most of my fish from a real light shaking, only moving the tip 1-2", just enough so the worm will shake. But do a search on dropshotting and you'll find lot's of good info by some really good guys. flippin4it- a 5#er on 6# line. NICE JOB.
  3. +1. I have tried Spiderwire out of desperation, but there is NO comparision. Sufix has never failed me... so why try something new.
  4. YOU SUCK!!!!!! J/K man.... I *** you. That's pretty cool that she encourage's you with your addiction. Good luck with the tourney
  5. BINGO!!!! I have the guide series Big Bait model for big baits and I like it.
  6. when I went to Alaska, i just judged it on how well he stuck us on fish. Our Halibut trips the guide was awesome, limiting out both times he got tipped by both my dad and I $40. When we went on the river salmon fishing, 2 days the guides stuck us on good fish, same thing $40 a piece, the last day on the river we had a differnet guide. He never tried different techniques and just wasn't giving it his all. He didn't put us on any fish, so he didn't get any tips from anyone.
  7. Won't kill your reel, but WILL effect performance if you get too big.
  8. The same thing happended to me. In lamen terms, a nut that kept the prop and the shafts that spin the prop backed off enough to where gears inside weren't contacting each other. Hopefully after this happened you didn't play with it enough to grind the gears. It wasn't too much to fix. I think it cost around $150 for labor to repair.
  9. Using a fluro leader with braid doesnt work that well and will randomly break. I use 20# sufix with 6# seagur. I've never had any problems with it randomly breaking. Were is it breaking for you? What knot are you using?
  10. I own the terminal tackle box and love it. There is no problem of small hooks going into other compartments. I would love for them to be a bit bigger, i see myself in the near future needing two of them. I think they are worth the money.
  11. Keep an eye on ebay after you find what you are looking for. I got a handhelp GPS for $99 that retails for close to $200.
  12. I don't remember what search engine got me here, but I remember I was in class and searching something on bass. This site came up and I was visiting this site every day I had class just reading the articles for about 4 months before I even realized there was a forum on this site.
  13. Gotta agree with everyone else, i've been told by two marine mechanics and they both said that it is harmful to the engine to do so. I don't know about you guys, buy I trust my mechanics.
  14. Check out what one went for on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260207141036 Insane huh???
  15. Nice toad chris. ;D
  16. $3.29. There is one place that is always cheaper, but didn't notice what it was today. It was down below $3 1 month ago for a week, and has been going up every other day. Oh well, I go 2 weeks on a tank going back and forth to work.... it's SWEET!!!!!
  17. My girlfriend is cold blooded, so it's always set wierd. Winter 74 when we are home 69 when we are sleeping off when we are gone Summer (It get's hot, so we usually keep it on 24/7) 76 (Usually $90 electric bill for a tiny 1B/1B apart.)
  18. What are your other swimbaits you are throwing?? For the basstrix you should be able to use a MH. Anything over 2 oz, I would get a heavier rod. Try the Okuma guide series, they are in your price range and are a good big bait stick. I would go with a 7-6. Just my .02.
  19. My box has nothing but the net bait paca chunks and twin tail yamamotos. I don't throw jigs that much anyway, but I love these two.

Once you get the hang of the polamar knot, it's a piece of cake. I've been using it for 3 years and can do it in the dark now.
  21. I have one that I used for awhile. Never had any rust problems, but to be honest, I didn't use it for long enough to rust to form. As far as the problem of hooks going into other areas, it's all about the Falcon Terminal Tackle box. It's well worth the $10. I used to have the same problem, I took the advice of other BR members and got this box, I am 100% satisfied, and i'm sure you'll be also.
  22. I hear ya. It's very depressing. Here is what happened on my last 3 trips that I planned. 1. Had to buy groceries, couldn't afford gas to get to the lake and back. 2. Big storm came in with 40 MPH winds 3. Went pond hopping with a friend. Started fishing around 10:30. After 1 1/2 he told me he had to work at 1:00. What the *&%^!!!!! I walked 3/4 of a mile up hills to get to this pond to fish 1 1/2 and you tell me know that you have to work. Pretty p!$$ed about that one still.
  23. Just wondering why you want to put another seat in? Do you want another permanant seat? I have a 16ft with a very similar layout. Space is limited and I use a fold up camping chair for the area by the gas tank. When I need it i unfold it. it folds up and virtually takes up no room when not in use and doesn't get in the way. Just an idea. Nice rig. What a steal
  24. So me and a buddy went out to a small, 1/2 acre pond. gets around maybe 15-20 feet deep I know for sure this pond has LM, catfish, and bluegill, maybe another type of sunfish. While beating the bank, I noticed tons and tons of tiny fish. Most of them were a light color, but also some were darker, maybe 3/4 in long. I know what tadpoles look like, and they were not them. My question is, what type of fish are laying eggs this time of year. do catfish start spawning this cold??? Just curious. Thanks
  25. What about buying a GPS to waypoint structure. We had a lake that was down almost 100 feet this year. I bought a GPS so I could start Waypointing structure. Just another "Expensive" idea for you.
