  1. I don't fish in kayaks much, but I have been in both kinds (The sit in and sit on top) . I personally prefer the sit in, I feel like I have better stability. I'm a pretty tall guy, so when i'm in the on top ones, my center of gravity is high and I don't feel like i'm balanced.
  2. I hate when society tags young adults with this stupid stereotype about videogames and violence. Like stated above, school shootings are not as high as we think (Yes, i agree they shouldn't happen at all), Someone say something if i'm wrong, but is it proven that any of the school shooting are related to video games. At my high school we had a gun scare (No killing, a kid brought a shotgun to school) I was friends with this kid too, but the kid didn't even own a video game console, so nobdoy could slap him with that stereotype. If you want to put this stereotype on young adults, dont forget those 40 year old virgin type people who go and shoot up a liquor store, i'm sure they did it becuase they play Grand Theft Auto also... GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! Don't mean to tick anyone off, just ranting ;D
  3. Swimbaits (Big Baits) - I have so much money invested in it already, I need to become semi-confident in it. Jigs - It's a known fish catcher, but I have yet to gain any confidence in this technique, probably cause I hardly throw it. I also want to gain knowledge in using my electronics to my advantage.
  4. I had something similar happen to me in Alaska. We were in the Cook Inlet fishing for Halibut. I hooked up with a halibut. It didn't seem big when I first hooked up with it, but kept pulling line out. I fought it for 20 minutes when I got it up to the top, there was half a halibut left and a 4-5 foot shark following it (The capt. called it something like a sh#$ shark or something similar, I guess because they are bottom feeders.) The halbut (When whole) was around 35 pounds. it was cool, but kinda sucked at the same time. It was a lot of work to pull that halibut in only for a shark to snack on it.
  5. I think it's just like everything else.... personal preference
  6. HEAD ON... APPLY IT WHERE IT HURTS!!! Be sure to use head on after head butting the T.V. HEAD ON... APPLY IT WHERE IT HURTS!!!
  7. That's excatly what I was thinking. HAHAHA. Another one to add to the worlds most annoying commercials list
  8. So now they make crappy commercials too????
  9. Nope the key to removing the epoxy is HEAT. You heat the area slightly with a hair dryer (it softens the epoxy) and then using the dull edge of a razor you carefully scrap the epoxy off. Once the old epoxy has been scraped then you can use a ultra fine sanding pad to finish up the area. You never use any solvents stronger than denatured alcohol on a rod blank.vicdotcom, I didn't. I first read everything I could to actually learn the processes involved with prepping the blank then, prepping the grip, and then the guides and so on, learning the differences in actions and backbones, about spline etc.. Then I purchased a rod kit and built a rod. You don't learn that re-modifying a rod....IMPO the re-modifying of and existing factory rack rod is nothing more than keeping idle hands busy. reelmechanic to the rescue once again. Thanks for that info
  10. BPS Tourney. I think around $50. Not a fan of BPS brand stuff, but threw this a couple times and felt real good.
  11. The cookies or the MILFS??? Tagalongs all the way, I thought I saw tagalong dreyers ice cream one day, but can't seem to find it anymore. Anybody had this before???
  12. Save the stressing and just get a new battery. Why not?
  13. When I bought my first BC setup I was on a tight budget also. I went and got a BPS Combo. It had a Citica 200 paired with a BPS Extreme Series Rod. This is a great setup and I have had no problems with either the rod or reel. I'm sure there are many possibilities to what you can get in that price range. Look around at BPS and Cabelas, they have lots of combo packages.
  14. Team_Dougherty - That is a good idea. I've been doing something similar. I have a wheel block with a rop tied to it that I've been putting infront of the front driver side wheel. I just open the door a bit and hold onto the rop while i'm pulling out of the water. When i drive forward a bit, i just pull it out. I like the idea of attaching it to the bumper that way you don't have to do anything. Very good idea thanks
  15. It's all about priority brent. I figure who needs A/C when it's raining outside. I will kick myself in a few months when it' starts getting 115 degrees in roseville. I just put an order with you brent. thanks
  16. I also use my v-6 for when I do pond fishing and don't need my big bad. It's great for this as well.
  17. Ahmen to that burley
  18. Sounds like we are sure to have an all out posse war
  19. I can't wait for that one either. That ones going to fix the A/C in my car. I got the blue trout wake jr. along with a mission fish and some mighty minnows, a couple hudds and getting ready to give brent some money too. I agree, you need to talk to the IRS, isn't the end of January that they have to have it to you?? that's messed up.
  20. I use my V-6 as a secondary bag for Large swimbaits. I think it is a great bag, I like the fact that it has some secondary storage. It has good storage outside the bag, and storage in the lid (mostly for papers and flat objects. Sounds like a pretty good deal, I haven't use any of their boxes except for the terminal tackle (Which I love) but I know you'll be happy with the bag.
  21. A round of applause for fishindaddy. Well done
  22. I got these on clearance and have no problems with them, they cut braid pretty good, I think my next pair i'll try the little kid scissors.
  23. How are you holding up.... any suicidle thoughts lately... There is NO way I could go on a 7 month stand without fishing.
  24. I have a 16ft glass, which I pull with a 88 nissan P/U 5 speed 2.5L. If the slope is like 5 or 10%, I can do it no problem, but if I have to pull it out of a 15%+ ramp, I have to put it into 4 low just so I don't burn my clutch (The clutch is in dire need of replacing. 4 people have learned to drive a stick with this truck). It's nice having the 4 wheel drive in case there is a ton of gravel. I've also needed it one time because the ramp had some nasty ice. For normal situations, you should be alright.
