Forgive me if this has been covered, I recently got a new BC combo and have only used it once, with minimal backlash. On a couple long casts there was some heavier backlash. I read ReelMech page about turning your brakes to OFF while setting up your BC. Can someone tell me EXACTLY what the brakes do, and in what circumstances would you turn them on. (flippin vs. casting) And is it best to set the brakes across from each other as opposed to setting two brakes on next to each other. Sorry if this is basic, but I was just curious.

scary, Im glad you all are ok. I had a couple of kids throw a block of ice at my car a couple of winters ago. They didn't know I lived in the neighborhood and knew my way around. I just kept driving, went around in a circle, and came up behind them. I jumped out of the car and started chasing them cursing. Considering the car was a POS, the look on their face when they saw me behind them was revenge enough. Im sure they had to go home and change their underwear. ;D

Thanks Catt, Got the package from UPS on Christmas Eve. (Great Timing) Got some Killer stuff in here including some swim senkos, rattle trap, 1/2 oz spinnerbait, and what would appear to be two oldham jigs, and they look awsome. Thanks agian, and Merry Christmas.

I like MS livelocal as well. But sometimes you get better visuals on one that you don't get on the other. I really like the birds eye view though on livelocal without having to download software.

Im sure its just politics. The private golf courses and rich folks don't want tourist trashin up the place. I can understand to a point. Opening Lake Manassas would most likely bring the property value down.

I can't suggest an exact phone. But some features to look for would be: At least 1.5 MP a flash for low light pictures and a self timer also make sure it can stand up on its own. A self timer is useless if the phone keeps falling over. A good camera phone will eliminate the need to carry a phone and camera. And I believe if you do alot of fishing alone like I do, a cell phone is a must.

LOL, I will when I get back from vacation. Christmas Eve Day my family and I are leaving to go to Cancun, Mexico!!! It won't be a white Christmas like I'm used to here in Nebraska, but with it 80+ degrees and sunny, I'll live. 8-) Make sure you bring a rod!

Thanks Russ. This is a great place. I've learned alot, from reading articles and from advice on the forum. There's alot of cool people here, some of who I've made friends with. Others I look forward to getting to know better. I know I'm alot different from your average fisherman, but I really enjoy the sport and accept everyones differences as I hope they do mine. Now if this weather would just warm up, I could upload a new PB for my avatar instead of this ugly gorilla. ;D

Sounds like a back yard breeder to me. Your lucky the dog didn't have parvo. You could call animal control but its probably something you'll have to settle in small claims court or something.
