Pictures can be decieving. My fish in my picture is almost 22 inches long. It was right at four lbs but it came out of a swift river (7 mph current) so the fish longer not fat because they are constantly working with the current. Oh well just a thought. Nice fish though bet they were a lot of fun.

I have never fished a tube backwords or upside down but I do catch a lot of fish on a tube. There is a great section on here about fishing tubes and all the different methods. I would read it. The tread is very informative. Good Luck once you catch on to it you will love them tubes are one of the most versatile baits available.

Cast with your wrist and only your wrist its a flipping motion and if you have your break set right you dont have to cast hard at all. I have a bucket in my back yard and I will stand on the deck while I am waiting on the for something on the grill.

Im a Barbarian. Finesse isnt even in my Vocab. Actually, For me it means the use of stealth to get to the fish then with as little weight and as small a bait as you can use. I dont know why it work but it tends to do well on those passive fish.

I just bough a pack to try. I know a few people who swear by them. They dont look like the gap is hardly wide enough to fish the IKA. But I'm just saying it I could be wrong. I got my first pack of Fat Ika this week and all it done is Rain and rain and rain. If it is still coming down tomorrow rain or shine i'm going. I have to try my new bait the suspence is killing me.

I have not even began anything like that. I wanted to look for interest. Also, as far as rules and amount of boats I really would like to run the club in such a manner that we all vote on such things. I want it to be a team club not my club. I know that I would like to fish some of the local reservoirs we could do Kokomo, Mississnwea, maybe Salamonie (yuck), go up hit Maxi, and some of the lake up in kosciusko county. I also would like to fish at least one more exotic location (for central IN folk) like Patoka or maybe even Kentucky lake or just something out of the norm for us. This trip could be an overnight trip if everyone wants to. I also realize the trips need to be affordable for everyone in the club so I dont want to get too crazy. The classic will be a two day event drawn from everywhere we have already fished. If there is a place the club does not want to refish or if a place is not fit to fish (water level or anything else) it will be pulled before we draw for the classic. I just have an idea. I want help from everyone who want to join to make the rules. Two other thing: I would like to keep the club to a reasonable number of boats because I IN has some laws at a certain number of boat I believe either 10 or 15 you have to get a permit. Also I want to pay to get into all tournaments but I want it to be affordable for everyone and friendly. I want thinking probably 5 or 10 bucks per person to get into a tourney. We could figure out if part of our dues would go to the classic or if we would take a certain % out for the classic at every tourney. Sorry I rambled just trying to give you an idea about what I am thinking. Where are you out of??

Is the Tackle Warehouse part of The Forum?? I just sent them a big order. I bought some Jackall, Luckycraft, and Daiwa baits, Also, got my Fat Ikas there. Is there a Forum sponsor I can get all those bait from?

Long Heavy or Extra Heavy Action Rod. Heavy Braided Line. A reel with a good tight drag. Always set the hook sideways. I have had great success since I started using this set up.

Is the Ika more durable than a senko?

Is Gammy hooks the same as Gamakatsu?? Or am I missing something esle?? Thanks

My last trip to my favorite lake I saw huge schools of shads. I also saw many good sized fish feasting on them. We threw many lures and only caught a few small ones on a rat l'trap. Does anyone have any suggested lures to catch some of these fish. I tried everything in my box. I tried fishing through them above them under them and them bottom under them.

Last night I ordered The Fat Ika in 4 different colors. I couldnt stand reading one more posting about how good they are. You know I dont want to miss the boat. Is there anything special I should know about rigging and presenting these baits. I am planning on rigging them weightless on a regular 3 or 4 /0 worm hook. Any advice at all?? Thanks

I spent the previous two summers throwing mostly senkos. This spring I decided to vary my tactics. I am loving swimbaits, crankbaits, and more tubes. Now one of these day I will actually catch a fish on a drop shot rig. oh well

Has anyone ever used the Deps Buzzjets or the Buzzjets JR? I was looking at them they look cool. Also, if so have you done any good?? Thanks
