  1. I hate people.
  2. Keep a can of Mt Dew with you and dump it down the fishes throat next time it starts bleeding. It will almost instantly clot it.
  3. Between both jobs in the summer I can usually drink 3-4 32oz Gatorade G2's. All that high fructose corn syrup will catch up to me one day.
  4. Boats are meant to get wet.
  5. I can't watch hockey since Scott Walker scored that goal in the game 7 OT against the Bruins. He should have been suspended after that punch to Ward.
  6. Thanks guys. It was a team tourney and I fished with John C (.) from here. We started on a shoreline that we figured would produce some quality fish, along with 4 other boats. In the first half hour we put 3 or 4 shorts in the boat and couldn't get any bigger fish. All of the other boats on that shore were also having the same issue. We kept going down that bank until it turns into a canal that leads to another lake. We came across a small lilly pad patch before the canal and . pitched his jig there and got nailed. This fish was a beast. Stupid me didn't have the net ready so I just grabbed the fish as soon as I could. So we were going in reverse, we had our big kicker fish we figured was about 4 - 4.5 and now we just needed to fill out our 8 fish limit with 1.5 fish and we would definatley be in the money. As soon as . stuck that fish 5 boats came moving on over to try to fish the pads we were in. : We picked them apart and just kept moving on with our one big fish. Since there were so many boats on such a small lake (34 on 87 acres) I got my little wacky rigged finesse worm ready to do some damage. As by 8am most of the fish were probably sick of seeing jigs and senkos. Right after the lilly pad patch . took the front of the boat and got us on a cool little deal. The fish were short striking the jig so you would go to set the hook and come back missing your jig trailer. So whenever this would happen I would throw the finesse worm and get them. I think it only failed twice the rest of the day. We kept fishing like this until about 10:30 when we had our 8 fish and our big kicker. I also had dropped a solid 1.5 pound fish at the side of the boat that I was praying wouldn't cost us. But we had to focus on the 4 fish that just barely touched 12" mark and try to get rid of them. And I mean just touched, and could possibly shrink up on us. Then at around 1pm . put a 14" football in the boat that was probably a .75 pound cull and really helped Then I put a 13.5" fish in the boat that threw out another one. At around 2pm I went to skip my finesse worm and got a bad bounce. The line ended up over a branch with the finesse worm falling in the water. And of course a fish hits. ;D Thank god for 30 pound braid with 8 pound diameter on spinning rods. I drilled the fish, breaking the branch in the process and swung him in the boat. It was another 14" and helped us get rid of another 12 incher. So now we had only 1 12" rat to get rid of. At 2:40 we started to head in and call it a day when . hit a fish on the jig in some grass. He winched the fish in and it was another 14" that helped. So out went the last 12" fish and we figured we had a decent shot at the money. The weigh-in started and there were a lot of 7 and 8 fish bags for 7-9 pounds. It was a real rat-fest. Then we heard someone have a bag for 14 change and figured we were fishing for second place now. Boats 15-20 got called to weigh-in so we started bagging our fish. Until then we both figured we had around 13-14 pounds but after seeing our fat 14 inchers and kicker we put ourself at almost 15 pounds and had a chance. I walked up and looked at the board and leading was 14.61. Also right then a friend of mine had just taken over lunker with a 4.16. But after looking at the fish I realized we were way off and our fish was probably around 5. So I knew we had lunker. I dumped the fish in the basket and they clocked in at 14.91. Just enough for first. And our big fish went 5.39. The only real error I made during the day was loosing a solid fish at the boat that would have helped a little more. But that happens, I didn't fight the fish incorrectly, it just made that one last dive and threw the hook. We really made all the right moves as to where to fish at what times. But 14.91 is a lot lower than what it takes to win that tournament so it was a very tough day to find quality fish. The two big things I learned.... always have a follow up bait ready, this was the reason we probably put 8 of our 13 keepers in the boat. Secondly, cull as much as possible. ;D . We culled about 5-6 times and probably only gained about 2 pounds. But we needed every bit of it for the win.
  7. Just make sure it doesn't crawl up your pants. ;D
  8. Nice fish Make sure the next big one you catch lives to see another day. :-X
  9. That fish shows no signs of being post spawn imo.

Started out at around 10am today (felt like sleeping late). Post spawn is my favorite time to fish because most fish are just so easy to pick off. The week or two following most bed activity they will stay super shallow and just chill in shade pockets or under overhangs making them very easy to get. I started by skipping a 6" bright pink floating worm up under overhangs in less than a foot of water and it was just one fish after another. I find this just as fun as sight fishing because you see the fish just suck it in. I couldn't get anything big going on that. I had about a dozen in an hour between 1.25-2, all solid fish. So I picked up the jig in search of some bigger fish and found a nice 80' stretch of trees where a lot of pollen had been blown into creating a nice scum line. So I took out the skipping frog rod for the first time this year. It's just a 6'6" Heavy action Castaway with 65 pound braid. I cranked up the brakes and spool tension on the Revo and started skipping it to the shore and working it out. Needless to say, it was on. I fished that 80' stretch of pollen and lay downs twice and picked off 9 fish in about a half hour and missed 3 or 4. These were all a little bigger going between 2.5-3.75. Forget bed fishing, I will take decent topwater fish all day long. After the adventure with Kermit I was on the trolling motor heading out of the inlet when I saw a bed about the size of a trash can lid with a big fish on it. I circled around and was about 35' away and the fish didn't spook. I threw a little 2.5" white tube to the bed. First cast I picked off the 2 pound male. Then three more casts and it didn't get any attention from her. So I took out the top secret bed fishing senko rig (just wacky-rig a 5" senko, tie it in a knot, and stare at it for about a minute and you will understand it ). As soon as it popped open in her bed she ate it. The fish went just a tad over 5. A fun day to say the least.
  12. Nice fish Beader... But you look like one of the bad guys from Thunder Dome.
  13. Wherever there is limited vegetation and I can get away with it I fish it. I use it primarily to cover water on low light days. Another thing I do is when the bite dies (rarely), I actually fish it faster. I will burn it on a 7:1 Revo.
  14. Looks like some nice jig water.
  15. I'm not the best at it but I love to Carolina-Rig this time of year. I will throw a 6" watermelon lizard on a 1/8oz c-rig on 6-8' flats with some form of light grass on it. I fish in very quickly. Second choice would be lipless cranks.
  16. One of the tourney's I finished second in I had a boat in front of me with a team throwing that d**n Sexy Shad Red Eye's and I caught 6 fish behind them. We were both just chunking and winding in a 5' stump field. One of which was the lunker for the T, 4.5. I have never touched an Excalibur so I can't say anything. I just know they wear out LC's, SK's, and Bill Lewis ones. For colors I love the Natural Shad and Perch colors.
  17. Very nice vid Big Money. Video's are great for learning. Another little thing: on that first hookset you when you went to the left you put some slack in that line. Try going up with the hookset more.
  18. It has to be the Spro Aruku Shad. These things are amazing. Get on a windy bank you can catch fish on 5,6,7 straight casts (which I have done multiple times). For example... This past Sunday I was out with a former boss who just got into bass fishing. He bought all top notch stuff (including a Ranger Z520) and has no clue what to do with any of it. So I just tied on an Aruku Shad and told him if he threw the bait all day he would get us our 10 fish limit all by himself. Now he has never had a day where he has caught more than 3 fish. In his first 10 casts he had 7 fish. The rest of the day continued like this. I would say by himself on the Aruku shad he caught about 60-70 fish, 1/2 of which were pickerel but it was still fun. The best part was the finish of the bait looked as though it was barely used. Even after an eight pound pike ate the bait it had some good scratches but was still in great shape, probably an 8/10. The last hour we had all our fish but could not get anything big (this lake is notorious for 11-13" fish). So I just tied one on and starting firing it. In the last hour I actually counted to 24 fish. Once again nothing big, but tons of fish. It is just a fish catching machine. We missed the money but were not goofed on by the announcer. Some brought in 10 fish for 8 pounds or a team who had 8 fish for just over 5 pounds. And there is a 12" minimum on this lake. Got to love post-spawn.
  19. F that! I rather do math than grammar. See, in math you are either right or wrong. In English, your professor/teacher will always find something to complain about on your paper. P.S. Math gets you further in life. Until the one day you don't dot your i's and cross your t's... Hey! Where did that multi-million dollar account go?
  20. I seriously doubt this to be true. Maybe you catch a fish there every time, but to say you catch the same exact fish every single time you go fishing is kinda of out there. Figured dinks would grow up quick in Florida. :-?
  21. LMAO John I know where that is.... ;D :-X
  22. PB!

WAIT!!! BS You caught a fish on a Carrot over 2 pounds and it didn't break?!?!?! What a load of crap. I bet you also had a scuba-diver put the trick stick in the mouth of the fish. Nice fish Codzilla.

Another person driving something they probably shouldn't be. Anyone notice how bad it was chiming in some of the shots? No sympathy for him.
  24. NICE!!! Hope you are taking notes Robby.
  25. Got to love the drop-shot. 8-)
