  1. Well there's your problem... The middle lane is designated for 85-105mph. Right lane is 65-85 and left lane is 105 on up. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle...
  2. They don't call us Massholes for nothin ;D
  3. I wish! My uncle's got season tickets though, I might have to hold his BMW hostage until he gives me a pair! Thanks for the well-wishes guys. It's something I've been thinking about doing for a while, and I just recently decided to start things in motion. I'm taking baby steps for now, picking up as much side work as I can manage while still holding a full time job at the bank in order to save as much money as possible. Been doing a lot of research into starting your own business, finding there's a LOT more to it than I orignially thought. Fortunately my twin brother Matt ran a successful painting business for about 4 years, so I'm expecting a lot of help from him! Wayne, you know how we do! You like that little illustration that came along with the plastics? ;D
  4. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Muddy, an UPS man I am not, although I'm betting Wayne's wishin I was! I'll check a local carpet store, see if they've got anything lying around. If not I guess I'll be pickin up some PVC.
  5. I'm gonna track one down, its now my mission. I just wanna make sure it gets to you in one piece, nahmean? PM sent.
  6. I've checked staples and my local post office and can't seem to find cardboard shipping tubes over 4' long anywhere. I need to ship a 1-piece 7'6" rod so the tubes gonna have to be 8' long, anyone have any ideas where I could get one? I'd rather not have to tape two tubes together but I've got to get this rod shipped out soon. Russ, would UPS have what i 'm looking for? Thanks guys.
  7. Here's my ole girl, gone since last April unfortunately. I'll agree with whomever it was that mentioned looking into a Suzuki SV650. They're a V-Twin so you'll have more low-end grunt than high-end screamin-fast power, but they're still fun to ride and offer a slightly more upright riding position. An easy mod to make them even more comfortable is to remove the stock clip-ons and mount dirtbike handle bars in their place. Just off the top of my head I can count 4 friends that all have SV's and every one rides with dirtbike bars. MUCH more comfortable.
  8. Do they "lube the groove" in Kentucky? ;D
  9. Bad move throwing it back. Snakeheads are an invasive species that MassWildlife considers a serious threat. You're actually supposed to kill and keep any that are caught, and then contact MassWildlife about it... "These fish prefer shallow, warm, fresh water. It is capable of breathing air and can survive on land for up to two days while in search of another body of water. This means it can decimate an entire population and then "walk", by wiggling it's body like a snake, to another water source. If found or caught, these fish should be destroyed immediately. DO NOT return them to the water. Instead contact MassWildlife, as they will want it for research. Put the dead fish in a zip lock bag and place on ice until it is picked up."
  10. Nice smallie Chaki! We'll have to try to get a Quabbin trip going for the fall bite, see if we can't catch a few twice that size. Mid-to-late September maybe?
  11. Takin off in a few, see everyone there! 8-)
  12. Paul brought up a good point to me just now on the phone, it might be necessary to get a permit to BBQ at the ramp because it's in a state park, and I think you might need a permit for any open flame (ie. propane grill...). Just a word of caution, but we can always just go for it and see what happens! ;D
  13. I'm down for burgers and dogs if everyone else is. Shoot me a PM and lemme know if there's anything I can bring.
  14. Little weather update for everyone making the trek... http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/USMA0106?from=dayDetails_topnav_undeclared Looks like we might get some rain in the PM, so make sure to bring rain gear.
  15. Are we grabbin grub before hand? I'll be gettin there fairly early, around 7 or so to help Paul out but I can be down earlier if we're gonna eat.
  16. Watch the kid in Peasey's avatar, he dances along to the music....
  17. I'm down for whatever, was planning on being to the lake early anyways. Food beforehand sounds good to me.
  18. Team #8) Paul, you're gonna have to find another partner... I just found a new team!
  19. Dangit, my canoe doesn't have a livewell! Does a cooler count?
  20. Largemouth - 7' MH Fenwick HMX paired with a Revo SX-L spooled with 12# Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft. 6lbs 12oz caught on an Evolution jig at Lake Guntersville, AL. Smallmouth - 6'6" M Fenwick Eagle GT paired with a Pflueger President 6735 spooled with 8# Yo-Zuri Hybrid. 4lbs even caught on a Gitzit tube at the Quabbin Reservoir, MA.
  21. The latest BassMaster magazine has an article that focuses on shallow running, square-billed cranks like the Manns Baby -1. Pretty good article, too. I've got a few -1's that I've yet to tie on, but after reading the article I think I'm gonna have to give em a go. Basically the article says that banging them off as much structure as possible is a great way to work them. Rip them through downed timber bangin em off branches and trunks, burn them over and through submerged grass, etc. Throw em anywhere you'd throw a spinnerbait.
  22. Some nice chunky smallies husky, musta been a blast. Sweet pics, looks like a great place to fish.
