  1. x2 actually, more like... x3.14159265.....
  2. i caught the smallie in my avatar on a gitzit tube, have always had success with em in the 'black leech' color. i know some have different color skirts from the tube body.
  3. i deleted a couple of mine anyways to keep the thread on topic. sorry RW!
  4. i've owned both a president and a supreme spinning reel. the president has caught more fish than any other reel i own. it's a great reel for the price. the supreme was a good reel but i didn't like it as much as my president. it just didn't feel as solid or well-built, maybe just because of it's light weight (8.8oz i think?). one problem i had with the reel was line twist. i put 3 different kinds of line on and every time i'd have to drag it behind my canoe to straighten out all the twist. might have just been mine, but i also noticed that when reeling in a slack line, the line doesn't spool properly. it would always lay heavy at the bottom of the spool and be thinner at the top. just my .02 cents.
  5. russ i just picked up a 7'6" okuma and paired it with a lefty cardiff 300A, any time you wanna try it out just lemme know. just remember though, you break it, you buy it! ;D
  6. send it up to MA!
  7. x4 if you're throwing a frog, presumably on or around pads, i'd stay away from using a leader unless it's 100% necessary. i've found using a leader is just one more way to lose fish.
  8. rip those bad boys topwater! the tail kicks up one hell of a wake and puts out a nice 'gurgling' sound. i also like to cut them in half and use the tail as a buzzbait/spinnerbait trailer for a different look.
  9. let's see.... too many to list, but some notables have been glenn, LBH, bronzeback bomber, CJ, RW, alpster & speedbead (they taught me how to hook into a tree limb on just about every cast down at g'ville... the 3 of us would make some good lumberjacks, lemme tell ya), jimzee (taught me that not all yankee's fans are bums!) & pitchinkid, electrickal.... like i said, too many to list, but those are some of my favorite people i've gotten to fish with and learn from so far.
  10. my sister and her boyfriend canoe'd down the saco a couple weeks ago, i guess they had the best luck in the coves/ponds that branch off from the main river. all they ever throw is senko's so i can't give any advice on baits. good luck!
  11. anything by chuck palahniuk.
  12. in-fisherman is usually a pretty good mag but isn't bass-specific.
  13. gonna agree with muddy here, i had a BPS rick clunn extreme and it was an "extreme"ly (pun intended...) easy reel to learn to cast without getting constant backlashes, and they're reasonably priced, too. best of luck!
  14. i use the berkley digital lip grip scale, it's rated up to 25lbs and goes for $50 at cabela's, BPS, etc. never had any problems with it. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0011558014820a&navCount=1&podId=0011558&parentId=cat90002&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat90002&catalogCode=IJ&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat90002&hasJS=true
  15. small, so my bulging muscles look even bigger... : but seriously, a medium.
  16. check out lake wequaquet in barnstable, i hear there's some nice bass in there. never fished it but a couple guys on here have and have pulled out some nice smallies in deeper water. i think it's a pretty big lake, too, might not be suitable for a kayak on a winday day. also might be a little more of a drive than you want to make from eastham. http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/habitat/maps/ponds/pond_maps_sd.htm check out that link for a list of lakes and ponds on the cape, i'm sure you can find a few close by that have some bass in em. good luck! 8-)
  17. if anyone could find a more-than-suitable replacement it would be ronnie, no doubt about that. way to step up, bud. and brian... "I do not see this as a loss, but rather as a very interesting development. Now, not only does the MOJO show one soldier's determination and love for family, but it shows a bond between, lets face it, complete strangers across a country." that says it all man, very well put. i've said it before and i'll say it again... just another shining example of why this site is so great!
  18. ...and the only prescription is
  19. a truly legit group of people, if i do say so myself! got to meet and fish with most of em at g'ville and they're a great bunch of guys (and gal).
  20. kent, you could always send me one to "try" (just don't plan on getting it back!!! )

  22. gonna agree with you there burley, especially for the price range. i just checked the calcutta's and they're a little above the amount i'm willing to spend at this point (especially for a stinkin shimano! ) plus i just found a lefty cardiff 301A brand new in the box on ebay for $82....
  23. well that was a short-lived stint! took the cardiff out yesterday and just could not deal with throwing a righty-retrieve reel, so the reel's going to bronzeback bomber tomorrow and i'll be heading to cabela's to pick up a round lefty. gonna look into an ambassadeur or maybe another cardiff/calcutta (per RW's advice...). i actually really liked the cardiff for the short time i did throw it, so we'll see. i've been a big abu fan since i picked up my revo's but this little intro to the posse has been miiiiiighty nice 8-)
