  1. j, what are the differences between a punching rod and a flipping\pitching rod? -sorry to change the subject for second-
  2. thank you Delaware Valley Tackle...i feel better knowing it might just be a matter of preference type thing.....I'm gonna add some weight to one of them to see how it feels to have it balanced like i imagine it should be
  3. bassclary, its an stx but i also have a Soron on a vendetta and that drops as well. Curls00, great reply - thank's for all that info.....Yea, my rods balance out a few inches up from the reel, around the hook keeper....I've always wondered though, if that is the balance point - why? why not balance it out where you actually hold the rod?
  4. I have heard good things and am thinking about getting one of these. iROD Genesis Series Cast Rod 7'5" Fred's Frog Stick Fred's Frog Stick - Designed by Elite Series Pro and premier frog fisherman, Fred Roumbanis. This rod has the perfect tip to allow accurate casts to precise locations, but it still has enough power to pull them out of the thickest vegetation. http://www.***.com/iROD_Genesis_Series_Casting_Rods/descpage-IRGC.html
  5. I believe I have quality gear...Maybe not super-elite gear but good stuff from Powell, Falcon and Loomis (imx), Revo stx', Sorons, Chronarchs, Stradics - and i really dont understand what a balanced rod means....If it means just holding my rod like im fishing then all my rods are super top heavy - the tops go right down....If i could hold the rod at the reel and it doesnt drop in either direction - I would assume thats balanced but i must be wrong...But if it balances out somewhere else - well, whats the point of that? did i make any sense? I have a revo on a Vendetta rod and these are supposed to be balanced well together but the tip just drops right to the ground......
  6. You mentioned spinnerbaits so for $100 you can get the Mojo bass spinnerbait rod, i love this rod for throwing spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, it launches them. I've used it to throw lipless cranks as well and it performs great...plus they have a deal now where you can get a mojobass shirt and hat with purchase.........of course, its great advise to go try out rods first as mentioned, but if you cant........now, if you need a jig or worm rod i'd look at something more sensitive than mojobass. Maybe Veritas, also $100
  7. Hmmmmm, thats wierd.....I subscribed through the website with no problems.....maybe try another browser cause there is another site i deal with that never accepts through internet explorer...I use opera and it works fine
  8. midnight splash, no leaks with that setup? Here is the rudder i just got:
  9. I have the 8e and it fits perfectly on a 4x8 utility trailer...thats what i use and i have no problem getting it on or off
  10. Could someone please fill me in on the bait monkey. The bait monkey is alive and well in your psyche......always will be :'(

    Superhog is a great bait!
  12. your day will come when it all comes together for you....I dont know what kind of lures your throwing to lose that many but for small lakes and ponds i rarely throw anything besides spinerbaits, buzzbaits or senkos...there is no need to - they just catch fish for me and never hang up besides the occasional bad cast into a tree or bush or something...Try those baits, texas rig rubber worms. you will get them to bite - slowly at first probably till you get it figured out....I know what you mean about not having a lot of partners to learn from. I found a flyer at a bait shop for a tournament and went as a rider...not to win but just to learn techniques and things - it worked and i kept going to those tournaments for a while. This has been my best year of fishing and also the least amount of time i have had to go. It starts to come together... good luck - have fun!
  13. or a double counter rotating blade model where one blade is right behind the other on the same shaft. This way the two torque effects offset each other. -T9 yep, thats the counterstrike way, my favorite buzzbait
  14. thats just the way buzzbaits run, its in the design. I dont like it either, the best running one i found is the Booyah Counterstrike, runs great, is tough and durable and catches lots of bass!
  15. like others, lots of blow ups but have not had a single hook up...too bad because it could be deadly

Zoom Super Hog, watermellon candy or green pumpkin
  17. red, nice job.....I think im gonna make a floorboard just like that after seeing it...even with the bigfoot!
  18. Red, thanks for posting the pics. I was nervous about screwing in the rod straps but im gonna do it now. even if it leaks a little its better than loosing a rod....I might also hafta put a floor in now! Cant you run your wires under the floor?
  19. yea weird, the one with the extra wiring (10E) is the cheaper one....Thats a good deal...In one of my earlier posts i put a link to the plug you would need for your trolling motor up front - its also at dicks.... Red, id love to see pics of your setup ! you dont have any leaks drilling right into the boat itself? i thought about it but got nervous about leaks
  20. $700 seems a bit much...I think up to $450 is fair with the motor as long as everything is in really good \ great shape
  21. there is bassresource emails?
