  1. excellent! now to find a milkcrate
  2. i have a 36lb thrust MK trolling motor. My boat has the wires that go from the back to the plug in the front, how do i hook up the motor to the front power wise? you need one of these: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2599817
  3. yea, i turned the head around..there is only one screw for that, took 2 minutes total (thats the same motor i use)....I do like it better up front, its easier to control while sitting and easy to view the fishfinder...I spin a little but i have a friend fabricating rudder for me now....buster boats makes rudders but way overpriced:
  4. thats good news, i just got a pack in...will try 'em this weekend
  5. if i remember correctly, when i took mine out of the package i think the pin might have been loose....I think its shipped that way so you can easily set it up how you want it (with the added balls or without). i added them and put the pin back in nice and tight and havent had a problem
  6. Ditto! i havent used it much since this happened
  7. never with your thumb in your closed fist and usually after ive been punched first
  8. 2-3 a year.... At least one each (spinning, baitcaster) of the latest reel and a nice rod to match
  9. I always missed fish like this as well...I started rigging "texsposed"...I bring all my hooks through and skin hook it in the back for the weedlessness...My catches went up instantly and by a huge margin.....Its a lot easier for the bass to break the "skinhooking" than to drive the hook through the worm...give it a try
  10. I As David P. stated, you won't notice a tremendous balance issue with the Powell rods that are 7 feet and shorter. Since this was brought up...I have 7' powell casting and a spinning rods , and the frog rod...I like them and picked up a 6'8 spinning rod that i think is just awefull...Very tip heavy
  11. Wish i had Fishing Rhinos advise when i started....heres my mishap that i wish was filmed....While loading during my second time out with my semi-flat bottomed basstracker (electric only lake - like most around here), i was trying to trailer the boat with roap and just pull it on but the current was so strong at this time i could not pull it in quick enough before the back end went sideways on me ( no side bunks at the time)...I had to hop on board and try and do it with trolling motor, but with the boat being so flat and light i guess , the strong current and being a noob, i still couldnt get on....So, i backed out and came in full speed of the trolling motor - was lined up perfecly this time but didnt get the motor pulled up in time and -CRUSH- ripped up the whole mount, now i had to very quickly jump with my rope as close to shore as i could before i drifted even further away. was a nightmare! - good luck though
  12. Thanks for the input, it is the right size ball and pin, it is just the little bit of give on each side of the mount inside the hitch itself...Once you have the mount in and the pin - the mount moves a tiny bit on each side, it creates quite a racket though! I found out that it is partly because the drop is not low enough and because the trailer is so light....I thought that was weird until i added some cargo and it got a lot better. I also found out the correct way to measure and i need a 4" drop for this trailer to do it correctly but it is still ok to go with what i have. thanks again
  13. we dont have much shad where im at either....its mostly bluegill but i still do better with shad color lures! maybe its because most "bluegill" pattern lures look awefull....I cant help but think bluegill look different in other parts of the country where these lures are made because they are not even close! ive got to try Koppers: http://www.***.com/Koppers_Live_Target_Bluegill/descpage-KLTPUMP.html
  14. I just picked up a utility trailer today (5x8) and use the same hitch\drop as for my boat. Its a 2 1/2" drop, but the utility trailer is to low for this - its angled up a bit to the hitch but doesnt come too close to dragging the back end...the problem is its banging and moving the hitch around a lot while i drive - im guessing because its uneven. Ive run all over town looking for a 6" drop and cant find one - I can find them online. My question is - do you think its ok to use for light loads (150 lb's) until i get the drop i need? Besides creating a noisy racket im not sure its causing any damage to anything. Has anyone else used a drop that wasnt perfectly balanced for their trailer? Problems?

they are both soft plastic jerk baits and Ive never really used a Fluke before (senkos work great so why switch?) .....Under what condition would you use a Fluke before using a senko?
  17. I have the 8' Bassraider and put on a Piranhamax 170....Got a new one on Ebay for $85 shipped..>Great unit for the price and saves you some cash for a new rod! http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10200003_250003001_250000000_250003000?cmCat=CROSSSELL_SEARCH
  18. I just saw "Field and Stream" boxes at dicks where the dividers come all the way to the lid - keeping everything in its place

congrats on the sponsorship! I love the tiny tim swimbait... Its done great for deeper smallies rigged with http://www.***.com/Zappu_Inchi_Wacky_Head/descpage-ZIW.html. Try that at Erie and thank me later!
  21. I agree, but if the motor checks out ok, i'd say its a really good deal...Talk him down a few hundred to replace the carpet
