  1. ***....First year trying them texas rigged and wieghted and doing well......Zoom Finesse and trick worms. Still waiting for my Space Monkey bite to happen :-/
  2. Yep, here in PA bass season is closed from Mid April until Mid June.....Bass season starts here next week - June 12. During the 2 month "off season" it is still ok to fish for them, you just cant keep them.
  3. I dont understand this...I just use spool tension because to me they seem to do the same thing....I cant tell the difference what each other is for.
  4. I have one of last years Energy's and its crap - I hate it.....Impulse buy last year because it was real cheap....After about a month gears started slipping and grinding - but not all the time....I sent it in for service and nothing was found wrong - so, it just sits in a drawer
  5. so, 34? for me, probably something like 3-4
  6. if your fishing clear water maybe go down a size and use willow leaf blades
  7. I have this rod too and love it....I also have the "Wacky Style" spinning rod and its great too....for the price
  8. Give them a call! I just got off the phone with customer service and explained my situation, They were nice enough to credit me back the 15%. Awesome company. Tackle Warehouse is hands down the BEST online tackle supplier. Wow, good for you hawk, awesome company!
  9. Lucky for me i cant catch Bass on cranks and don't buy neither....Lipless cranks work for me though and i stick to the $7 Xcaiburs
  10. Just pulled the trigger on a Stradic MG - Regular $229 - on sale for $169 plus another 15% off, got it for $143....Also picked up a few Wareagle spinnerbaits and 3 Cavitrons with the money saved....$165 total, not bad at all!
  11. I have both rods.....The HMG is the much better choice......I think the Mojo is a fairly decent rod for the money. Mine is just the traveler rod, meaning it stays in the truck in case I drive by a pond or something on my travels
  12. A military hangar! I keep mine in one of those small flimsy style coolers...Made a separator for it....I never even lift up the jar this way - so , no worries about spilling
  13. there is a pond close to work that i always go to on my lunchbreak....I never need more than a spinnerbait and a wacky rigged senko for this place...I was out Monday and could not buy a even a bite...Very strange for this place....Out today and pretty much the same thing is happening except that with the spinnerbait on 2 different retrieves Bass chased it up to within 6 feet of shore and just ran into the bait - never even opened their mouth..wierd , but at least it was interest. I ran to the truck and grabbed a swim jig just to make it less flashy and 3 casts in had a chunky 16 incher....In my last 20 minutes I had 3 Bass just by taking the flash away....Moral = the bite seems tough here too right now but they will hit the right thing...Keep changing it up - good luck
  14. I got my first Stradic last year.....Just got another one a few weeks ago and will get another next year.....The 2500' can be found on Ebay for around $125 new if you wait and look around, but its still very worth the retail tag of $150....Try this reel out before deciding!
  15. I fish War Eagle almost exclusively - that means Ill try a new one here and there.....Recently I tried the River2Sea Crystal spin bait....These are real nice looking and run really nice too. Last year I tried a few Nichols pulsators and to be honest I cant get either one to run straight...For me War Eagles just catch a lot of fish and probably just because they are made well and always run straight!
  16. Congrats! I just went and read your article - good job
  17. wacky rig a senko and just walk the shorline casting in the morning if you can.....its gonna get you that bass
  18. Strange that it killed the pickeral so quick but not the bluegill - eh, good for him
  19. What reel are you looking for that doesnt have a lefty? I have no trouble finding lefty reels anymore - back in the 90's it was tough though
  20. try out the St Croix MojoBass spinnerbait rod for $90....I really like the rod and save you a few $$$ for some new lures
  21. I was out yesterday at a small pond and found 1 bed....Its got about a 15" male on it and about 5 feet behind it our 2 females just sitting there staring at him.....None of these fish would touch anything that was thrown at them, they would just stare at it....Even the male - he would frantically chase bluegills away but would let any senko - shaky head or worm just sit in the middle of the nest, i tried throwing the Bluegill tungsten swimbait but they laughed at it ;D
  22. Thank you for all the replies! I decided to give it a shot - though i wont get a chance to use it until next week....I have a Gloomis spinnerbait rod that i also like to use for my topwaters so its going to be paired with that rod and now i can finally take off that god forsaken quantum energy pt i currently have polluting that rod
  23. Pretty much all the time im using a Senko its pitched or flipped....Very rarely do i cast it.....But if i was pitching or flipping into heavy cover (Which is what i think you mean) the rod is just not designed for it....Sure, it can be done, but i think you will have trouble landing some fish and losing fish.
