Weed Kill
Lake Conroe just north of Houston was devasted many years ago when they dumped thousands of grass carp. They ate everything in the lake and the fishing suffered for years. They have done it again this last year, just not as many. After they eat all the grass the fish get very dependable as to where they relocate and the fishing is great until they are devastated by fishing pressure and predatation of young of the year. The school is still out as to what type of senario we will have over the next few years. There is still grass in the lake, but the grass carp are working it over. Time will tell.

Pro Staff??
The key words are BUY and PROVIDE. It is a shame but some want the distinction so bad they are willing to buy it. And that is exactly what they are doing. They are really only very good customers.

How "hardcore" is your fishing?
I use to be young and dumb. Would not come off the water for any reason. Until I watched lightening strike a tree in the water less than 50 yds from me. I now come off the water when a storm is coming.

Creek
I have a bayou about 150 yards from my home that runs through the neighborhood. I lived here 7 years before I tried it out. I cannot tell you how many bass from 8" to 4lbs. I have caught out of it using 1/8oz spinnerbaits, 1/8oz traps and 4" trick worms. No one fishes that I know of but it is loaded with bass. I either fish it early or late and pay attention to any obstructions that will give the fish a way to get out of the current. One of my hot spots is a grocery basket someone stole from Kroger and shoved it off into the creek.

MASSIVE thank you to all

Setting the hook
Snap hookset and the correct size and design of hook for the type of plastic you are using. I use straight shank hooks for most of my plastics in 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0. For wide body plastics I use wide gap hooks in 4/0, 5/0, and 6/0. On the smaller plastics I also use thin wire hooks as they will penetrate better than the thick wire hooks. For example while fishing a baby brushhog I will still fish the 3/0, and 4/0 thin wire hooks. I do not recall ever having a thin wire hook straightened out or opened up.

advice on a shallow river?
Look for the deeper water, cuts behind points(out of the current), and every cut you come to.
