Catt, I need some help. Friend of mine bought an older Skeeter that needs some clear coat. I have no idea what to do to help him. Check all of the motor mounting bolts and any of the complete openings through the transom for dark or offcolored areas around them. this will usually be rot. Lift up on the foot of the motor to see if it gives. You should not be able to lift it up. Walk over the floor and feel for weak spots. They will usually be located around and back of the drains and under the console. What type of Ranger is it? Some of the early models did not have a rear deck. Water test the boat, but let it sit in the water off plane for at least an hour to let any leaks show. When you run the motor it should be quick to come up on plane and should not studder. check to see if the sterering is easy to turn. A steering cable will cost you about a 100.00. I have just finished reading most of the post in this section and have become aware that my condition is minor compared to some I have read. Especially when it pertains to a child or young adult. I will say a prayer for all and hope the next time something bad happens it can be someone like myself that has lived a good life instead of a younger one that has not had the chance at life I have had. LBH, P-Rock, dystonia is a muscle tone disease that may be inherited or caused from a major accident. The doctors are not sure. The treatment, is Botox injections at the muscle site(my injections are schelduled for Fri. Oct 26) every 90 days. You are also loaded with pain meds and all other types of meds like for seizures. About 25% have or develope head tremors. Thankfully I have not develpoed any. Actually I feel ok but when it gets close to injection time I know I need them as my head will start to get pulled down and to the left. The injections block the nerv sites that keep the neck muscles from pulling your head down. There is much more but I am going to quit here. Jack

I may live in Texas, but I live and breath Alabama football.Several weeks ago one of our local sports stations had a callin for the best college gameday atmosphere and University of Alabama won it. I own a Skeeter, but I have never seen a Bass Cat I didn't like. Never fished out of one but the guys I know that have owned one have all liked them. Might be my next,but I will need one a little longer than 18 ft. You cannot go wrong with any of the three.
