Boat traffic
boat wakes(And wind) tend to stir up the food chain and that will increase activity a lot of times. I've fished areas that depended on wave action to get bit.

Are Bass smart?
We've done that. Lots of taged fish in the lake and yes, they have been caught more than once, by more people than myself.

Are Bass smart?
When these fish are stacked in brushpiles in 20-30' of water and they produce day after day with out a break, I tend to believe they are basically the same schools of fish. If, however they were shallower I would tend to agree. The deeper schools tend to stay put once they set up for the summer.

Boat traffic
Depends if it is constant or intermittent. If they traffic is always heavy it may not affect them. If you are off in a secluded spot that someone runs over it will probably scatter them for a while. Case in point refer to Jay Yealas winning the Classic several years ago in Alabama. Boat cut right in front of him and he caught a 6 pounder before the wakes diminished.

starting question
What do you mean by fine? Were they wet, soaked, dry, or what?

Are Bass smart?
Heck no. If they are so smart how come I'm still catching them in the same spots and on the same lures that I did 30 years ago. If you go out and have a bad day it ain't because you ran into a bunch of smart fish. It's because you(An angler) are not smart enough to figure them out. Lots of times I ain't either. Just because I dumb down while on the water does not make the fish smarter.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Wonder if he ever thought that might be the attraction?

starting question
X2, but like the fool I am, I figured he had checked it.

starting question
Only thing to do is pull the plugs and take a look at them. If they look ok, start checking the fuel delivery system. Just because it did not start does not mean it isn't firing. How do you know it is not firing? Have you already checked it? Check to see if the cylinders are getting fuel. You may be cranking on a dry(Fuel) motor.

Fireant commercials LOL
To all that posted we don't have them...They will be there shortly. Enjoy it while you can. You don't kill them, you just force them to move to your neighbors place. When he treats them they move right back under the fence.

Sentry vs. Stabil
I use Stabil and Startron. Have not used Seafoam, but heard good things about it. Not sure which is better, but the important thing is to use something.

How T0 Try A Boat Out Before Buying
Excellent launching skills.

Useful tip
You might want to invest in a set of real glasses. Those Walmart readers do nothing but give me a headache.

Advice on boat purchase
Just check the motor and all the wood for rot. Other than that it looks great for a 29 year old boat.

Sleep Advice
I feel for you. I never get over a couple of hours sleep the night before. Just sucks and I have no clue how to help you either.

mustad hooks?? are they any good??
I'm with Catt. Mustad hooks are the ones I use and have never had a problem. They seem to hold a point a lot better than the rest.

fishing glasse's What do you use and how much is too much to spend?
I use Costas. One with an amber lens for low light and the other with the standard lens for bright days. They are expensive, but when it comes to your eyes you do not need to cut corners. Deals are always coming around the internet with the glasses ranging from about 80-140. I bought both of mine used this way and have been very satisfied.

The do's and donts of boat launching
Probably; however, I have seen it happen a couple of times over the years. It's usually when they power load and do not attach the bow strap. A steeper ramp will cause the boat to slip off the trailer if they gass it coming up the ramp. On a normal ramp you don't have the power and traction to throw a boat off a trailer.

The do's and donts of boat launching
Get you a 40' rope with a bow clip, hook it up, throw the excess in the bed of the truck(Tie the loose end to a cleat or anything to keep it from getting away from you). Back down launching the boat, pull up several feet to keep yourself out of the water, and pull the boat to you. I also reccommend that you cut the trailer at the last minute just a hair to your right. This will send the boat out to your side. It's no fun trying to crawl over the bed or the trailer tounge in the dark(Not to mention all the work you did to keep your feet dry is up in smoke). Also keep the motor trimed up high. Otherwise you will wade to it if the lower unit hits the bottom when the bow is still 10 feet from the bank. Good luck.

The do's and donts of boat launching
That is nice...if I could trust others that way around my launch, man that would definitely work. There is no way folks around my area would do that though. It beats backing down, crawling in the boat, backing it out, trying to find a place to put it, walk back to the truck, pull it up out off the ramp, then find a parking place. Trust me, everyone appreciates it and they never mess with your stuff. Not to mention you've blocked one of the ramps for 5-10 minutes. I've seen 200 boats launched in a little over 30 minutes with a five or six lane ramp. Heck the guys with partners have one behind the wheel, cranking the engine just as the lower unit hits the water and the truck driver never breaks stride. He's got it in drive just as the boat starts to leave the trailer and he gone to park. 20-30 seconds if that long. When you have everyone knowing what they're doing it takes no time. At the McDonals tournament back in May on Rayburn(7,000 entries) I was in line out on the road 1/4 mile from the parking lot(Not the ramp) and I was in the water in 31 minutes(Four lane ramp),(Monterrey Park).

The do's and donts of boat launching
Less than 30 seconds. If it is a large tournament the ones that are fishing alone just unhook the bow and stern, trim the motor up, back down the ramp, and turn it loose. It will move out away from the ramp, everyone knows they are coming so they watch for them. They just use their feet to keep it off other boats. After parking walk back down to the ramp, and anyone will allow you to step in their boat and give you a ride out to it(Just be sure you don't track a big muddy foot print in their boat). Works every time. Never had or ever seen a problem doing it this way.

Waning Interest?
I got a divorce at 33 and did not pick up a rod for three years. Went to the doctor's office for a check up one day and there was a copy of Bassmaster someone had left out. Picked it up, read several articles, and was off and running again. Had a new boat within four weeks. Other than health issues that keep me off the water at times I've not lost the edge or desire and that was 24 years ago.

Nitro X-4 with Mercury 50hp (engine question and another general boat question...)
Definately a problem with the motor. Don't go trying to shade tree it. If it's new it's under warranty so go let them check it out. Could be a fuel problem or electrical, or just need adjusting. As for the mold issue try leaving the lids open for a while when you return. I've found that dryer sheets left in the boxes will keep any smells under control. Good luck.
