  1. Typical idiot. You have the right to navigate a marked channel. Don't worry about it for an instant.
  2. Yes, and it's caused by lack of attention to detail and having too many things other than the task at hand on your mind. Refocus on the current task and things will get better.
  3. No, just an old tale that can cloud your mind and knock you off your game plan.
  4. Let me see. 40 acre lake 1 fisherman trying to catch all the small(1"-3") fish out of it 1 spawn drawfs what you can take out in yrs. I think we've been had. Someones got to be LTAO
  5. It's obvious you've never repaired a transom or stringers. Anyone that thinks that's fun is extremely ill.
  6. longhorn_basser your an idiot if you do not take advantage of this. You will learn more in a day with Catt than you will stumbling around for a month. If you get interested in Big Sam let me know and I will show you some things over there.
  7. fished a tournament last year on lake Ray Hubbard. Had to pour lake water on the carpet and still ripped the carpet around the live well to put the first fish in. It had rained the evening before and the carpet frooze up to everything. I hate it when the guides ice up, but that's part of it. thank the lord for the 100 MPH suits.
  8. Who knows. You didn't even tell us what you have. Depends on the age, brand, type, etc. No way we can answer you. Is it an inner mount or outer. There are many possibilities. Try helping us out if you really want some answers.
  9. I use a MH or heavy/fast tip 7' Allstar flippin stick with a Revo SX 7:1.1. 65# Prowerpro braid(No leader) 3/4, 1oz., & 1 1/4 oz. Jig Ole monster with a 1 oz. or larger weight. Depends on the thickness of the mat and have on occasion had to pitch the heavy jig up in the air to get enough down force to break through. That 7' M rod will not cut it in a lot of the grass we fish. It will end up in 2-3 pieces trying to horse one out.
  10. Money runs the show. Remember when Humminbird had the side image unit mounted for their pros. The Lowrance boys were running the Lowrance products and promoting them. You better believe that Humminbird unit was mounted under the dash or laying on the floor, and was being used by a bunch of the others.
  11. You really don't want to know what all is involved in the transom rebuilt. I thought I knew when we started mine. You try everything you can to save it. It's not worth the time, money, and effort to repair that boat. If you just have to know , I will PM you the details.
  12. you will more than likely have tons of interference every time you kick the TM on. 12" is rather small if you are going to fish two people most of the time. Ask him if he has a 14 footer.
  13. cart7t your stuff going out in Monday's mail
  14. cart7t, I have a FHSpro Elite chip I can send you to see how you like it. It is the south chip so it should have your lakes. Don't want to get rid of it, but if you would like to try it against a Navionics chip just let me know and I'll mail it to you. Also have Map Create 6.3 if you would like to try it. If you like it feel free to keep the disc for your area. Jack P.S., don't try to copy one or you will ruin them. They come with copy write protection built in.
  15. I use it all the time. Works great for me and if Tony and Lane say it works that's enough for me. They have done all the test so if they put it out it's got to be good.
  16. Feel your pain. Have not been on the water in two months. Dealing with a sick mother, and I have had SIX surgeries on my neck. Fused at 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7. Mine hurts to. I just deal with it as best I can. Playtime is over though. They better run for cover cause I'm fixing to make up for lost time. Good luck! Jack
  17. Looks normal to me. Just move in a few feet more, unhook bow strap, and have fun.
  18. Go to lowrance.com and check the assessory list from L.E.I. They list alll the applications of what will fit what. Easy to see.
  19. I want the big bite first. I'm starting out in the deeper portions of the funnell and working my way shallower. I would also thorw a jig, 10" plastic, and a trick worm at every piece of wood I could find and slowly work my way in to the shallow water concentrating on the funnell edges and where it tails into the points. As I neared the 6-10 ft water I would be also throwing a trap(Gold/BLK back with an orange spot). No wind pushing any bait so they should be staged a little deeper. Depending on the bite as to whether I'm going on in shallow. This is a big bite area so I am going to stay a little deeper. As far as the other side with the hog back I would probably make a quick early pass on the back side of each point just to pick off some feeding fish. I would definately keep an eye on this area watching for schooling fish as the day went on. If this area had any grass I would cover it with a plastic, a blade, and a trap just in case it was being overlooked by other fishermen. Mid day I am out in the 17-35 ft depths where I started fishing a large plastic and a DD 22. If the bite is off out deep I have no problems moving back up in the 6-10' depths midday fishing the heavy grass and timber with a jig and large plastic. You just never know so I would keep the mid depths checked.
  20. I fish alone a lot. Made the mistake of carrying a partner (He owns a boat) to one of my best spots late during a tournament day to try to upgrade. This spot was so good and consistent I only touched it when money was on the line. He has since beat it to death and even told several other club members about this spot and they have beat it to death. Never again will I put a fisherman with his own boat on any area I have taken the time to put together. It's not worth it. I might add that this guy is a decent fisherman when you put him on them. He just cannot find them so he is notorious for the beat downs on other peoples fish.
  21. Try Navionics. I have a lot of their maps and they are a lot more detailed than any others I have seen. As far as Bankhead goes it's a smaller body of water and you will probably be better off trying to get an original grid map from the government and then drawing in the lake contour lines to outline it. When I lived in Trussville I fished it some but it has been so long ago I don't remember enough to help you with it.
  22. So you want to modify a boat to put a 50 on it when you can buy the glass boat with a 200 ready to go? You should be out closing the deal on the Skeeter instead of typing the question on this website. Go get it and enjoy.
