lowrance HDS Gps?
You definitely need the Navionics East chip. Be sure to go to their website to verify that your lakes are on the chip. Don't buy new either. those Platinum chips can be bought on the internet used for around 80.00.

Re: Road Warrior
You might want to discuss something else, like, maybe the Banjo Minnow. That's a safer subject. Jack

Re: Road Warrior
I can guarantee you he is not bias. I don't know him personally either, and I have expected him to lock down more than a few threads when he let them go. I can guarantee that if a thread was locked, he had good reason. After you have participated in this forum for a while you will know that the mods do not allow a lot of corporate bashing. Just not good business. Jack

Lake Sheldon (Texas)
It breaks up out of the water. Not much of a ramp at all even though it's all concrete. Very steep also. That's the problem, just as the trailer clears the water the tow vehicle breaks over the top and instead of being level it breaks down toward the parking lot at a very steep angle. Very poor design. As far as running, you can get around pretty easy especially in a little smaller boat. Wish I had a 16 footer with a 90 on it. That would be ideal for getting around. If you get out there run northeast from the ramp or follow the dam back to the right and find the deeper water. It's very shallow except for the deeper area in the N.E. section.

Lake Ray Hubbard
Yep, and I'm fishing the RHBC Tuesday night tournament two weeks from today.

Lake Sheldon (Texas)
I can't get mine in. the ramp is very steep and breaks over sharply. It would hang up on my trailer.

2nd spawn!!
I have to agree with you. When the weather and water sets up right I believe there is the chance for a second round. A lot of people will argue that they are just late spawners, but when it's months apart it's hard to argue that point. I've seen it happen in north Alabama several times when I lived over there. I did catch one over eight on June 27th several years ago on Sam Rayburn that was fanning a bed and had a bloody tail. It could be a few with crazy biological clocks though that just were not ready when it came time in the spring.

Impact of boat traffic on bass
Catt, Jigman, and Sam are all right. the fishing gets tougher on the weekends. I like fishing midweek. they are always a little easier to figure out. That being said it took 29.49 to win the Bass-N-Bucks tournament yesterday.

My new project.
Those are nice boats. $400.00 is no bargain if all the flooring, stringers, and transom are rotted out of it. I promise you there is more to fixing that floor than just replacing what you see. It needs to have the cap pulled to do it right. You can possibly patch what's in the picture, but there is way more rot than you are seeing. The stringers are going to be suspect also. While you are at it go to the back of the boat and lift up on the foot of the motor to see if the transom gives any at all. If the motor moves on the transom get back to me and I will let you know what you need to do to fix the problem. If the transom gives it may well leak badly while on the water. You need to check this out very carefully. The complete flooring is gone, the stringers are probably gone, and if they are I would bet the transom is to. Cost to pull the cap and repair thes items correctly will run at least 3,000.00 and probably over 5,000.00 I am in no way trying to talk you out of the job. It can be fixed, but it is a job and won't be fixed in time for next week's tournament. This boat has serious issues that need to be addressed to make it safe. Again, not trying to rain on your project, but there is a lot more to it than covering what you see with a piece of wood and carpet. Good luck

Safety on the Water
Done it one time. When the storm was over the boat was out of the water. 9 1/2 hours later I was picked up. It was a long, cold, wet night on that bank. Never want to do it again.
