  1. 7:30 pm and it's 101*. High here was 102*. Not a drop of rain here since April 22.
  2. My night time frog technique: Take frog in r. hand, hook to first guide on rod, reel up any slack, stow rod in rod locker. I'll take the jig, black buzzbait, or big plastic over the frog any time.
  3. Well, I certainly will have one tied on. Just seem to do better with a jig or ole Monster in my hands this time of year. Personally I'm not a frog fan when fishing at night. Just my preference.
  4. I trim and thin. Just my preference.
  5. I check them, but don't put a lot of stock in them. I am more interested in the weather, lake levels(Rising or falling), are they generating, water color, and time of year. Actually the most important thing to me is the depth of the inside and outside grassline. That is what helps me the most.
  6. Catt you left out one of my favorites. The Zoom Trick Worm fished wacky. with a 1/32, 3/16, or 1/8 oz. bullet weight. Throw it up in 3-5 ft. and...Heck you were there, you know the story. Get ready for the next moon. I will be free and clear by then and the wife allready knows I'll be gone for a few days. Mom is doing great,(Really starting to get on my nerves so I know she is better).
  7. Caught a day or two ago. Unfortunately it did not survive.
  8. There was a 10.01 caught yesterday afternoon on a topwater lure off a small grass bed. At least that is where he said he caught it. I know it came out of the lake, saw the vedio weighing it this morning on another site.
  9. I wish I could go. Have not been over there since Catt and I made the trip 8 weeks ago. Getting my mother over major back surgery. It takes 24 hour care right now and I'm getting the shakes.
  10. Temps will be 100+ here the next 4 days. April 22 was the last day we had a drop of rain.
  11. 1% mix is too much as far as I'm concerned.
  12. The salesperson in the fishing section never heard of Yozuri fishing line. They stopped carrying Luck Craft. They don't have any High end Shimanos, or other reels for that matter. They did away with the boating department and expanded the camping/diving section. The food sucked in the restaurant on two different occasions. They're expensive. No reason to buy from them over Sports Authority, WalMart, BassPro or one of our sponsor here at BassResource.com. None of the employees have a clue about the merchandise that they are there to sell. Gander Mountain is as far into the outdoors they have ever been. I'll never go back.
  13. Doubling the oil will not hurt it at all.
  14. Jig Senko Crankbait Spinnerbait Plastics Traps This is the type of answer you should get from everyone. How do you expect us to help you with a request like you posted? You never gave us water depth, color. Are they on a hump, ridge? Are they in 40'? Throw anything you like. You are the only one that has seen the area. There is no way any of us could possibly offer any help with the information you listed.
  15. No, I use to check them and found myself planning strategies around them. Fishing spots at the wrong times so I quit even looking at them. Have not checked one in several years.
  16. Depends on the lake around here. Rayburn Once every 3-5 years Toledo Never Conroe Every year or two Nacogdoches Nearly every trip. City owns the rights and patrol it like city streets. GW and local cops are always out there.
  17. Get your map out and we'll get together and mark some places for you. Plenty of deep water with deep grass close by. I would concentrate on the scattered deeper grass out away from the main grass. It has the potential to produce a lot of heavy bass and does not get the pressure the main grass beds do. Jack
  18. I'm with you on this one Micky. Turn your dang phone on will ya?
  19. Yes and the Bait Monkey beckons me this morning. You never have enough.
  20. 18 Plano boxes loaded with plastics, cranks, top water, rouges, Spinnerbaits, jigs, crawworms, terminal tackle, etc. Plus 20+ pounds of plastics in their original packages. That's what stays in the boat. There's more if I care to do an inventory. I'm positive there are 47 Spinnerbaits, 107 Rattletraps(AT last count), 17 Rouges, and at least a hundred other crankbaits of varying designs.
  21. 5 lbs. Anytime you catch a five it's a good trip. That's a quote from a guide, tournament fisherman, and friend of mine. His name is Pat Miller.
  22. Do a search and read the post on fuel. That will answer most of your questions. One shot of fluid will not hurt the 2 stroke.
  23. He's fishing to win at any cost. If that's what it takes to do it so be it. Strike King should not have a problem with it. He can always tie on a Series 6 before he gets in.
  24. Just goes to show you it can happen to anyone at any time. Wear those PFDs.
  25. Don't go S.E., Buck Bay is North of Humphrey Pavillion. S.E. is dry land behind the dam and over toward Hwy. 96 out of Jasper. You'll run out of water in Desperation Cove. LOL.
