How much does CONFIDENCE really matter to you?
You may fish the two in exactly the same places, but they are not the same bait. A skirted jig and a t-rigged craw are different. One has a skirt and the other doesn't. They fall differently, the look different when resting on the bottom, etc, etc.

How much does CONFIDENCE really matter to you?
I posted something along the lines of this a while ago and disagreed with most everyone. To me confidence is one of the last things that I care about. Knowledge of how, where, and when to use a given technique is what is the most important thing. After you apply your knowledge successfully you will gain confidence. To go along with your point about the jig, I used to have no confidence in it. That's mainly because I didn't have any real knowledge on how to fish it. Once I did the research and started applying my new knowledge I caught more and bigger fish than I ever had before. Now I almost always have a jig tied on. On the flip side I know anglers who have confidence in a particular bait without the appropriate knowledge and end up using it in situations that are not ideal resulting in low to no catch rates. This fisherman's confidence in a particular bait is inhibiting their success.

Girl
He was probably happy that you spent the whole time dancing with her. He didn't have to bother dancing AND his girlfriend wasn't mad at him because he wasn't dancing. Sounds like a win win to me. Seriously, this thread has nowhere to go but in a bad direction.

I'd start with NOT posting her pics on an internet forum.

Spinning Reel?
I had an old Shimano reel with quick fire that I liked. I have replaced that reel with a symetre and it is much better. The system is nice to have, but it also has it's issues. As snook said the line can wrap around the trigger. The trigger also causes the bail to be much heavier on one side and throws off the "balance" of the reel. I think it was reelmech who convinced me not to get one.

Selection at Wally World
My wal-mart just restocked. They also put a bunch of stuff on clearence. I bought a bunch of 3/0 gammy worm hooks for a buck a pack. Zoom flukes and tubes were also $1 a pack. Bought all of them too. Now I need to actually start using tubes!!!

Jeeps?
The dealers purchase their inventory. That purchase is then financed through the manufacturer so the manufacturer is in essence loaning the dealership the money to pay for the car that they are trying to sell. However, the ownership of that car is at the dealership. So they aren't getting it for free.

Colors
For soft plastic worms, I fish with differing shades of greens, browns, and blacks. I typically start with green pumpkin and will move from there. I also don't worry about flake color or anything like that. I also haven't gotten into any dyes. I don't fish cranks a ton (I'm a shorebound pond angler) but when I do it's either green (bass/bluegill mimicking) or silver.

How Big is this Bass?
You're funny!! ;D BTW, a 12-13 inch fish is going to weigh like 1 pound so I guess I barely caught a keeper there. Thanks for setting me straight! I also think I should call Rapala and complain about their defective rulers. They must have skipped 10-20 because the number 22 is right there by the fish's mouth. Or I guess that could just be a random number. :

How Big is this Bass?
and that is proof, that without a scale or accurate measurements your guess is nothing more than a guess and it even close to the actual weight. You're going to always overestimate your catches and typically underestimate others. That fish was 22" long and had a 17" girth. It's much larger than 4 lbs. My cheap berkley scale put is at 6lb 12oz. After I weighed that fish I tested the scale and it is accurate at 5lbs but with 10lbs on it only reads 9lbs. The fish weight calculator here puts the weight at 8 lbs (which I also think is definately too much).

How Big is this Bass?
Got any measurements? Guessing based solely upon a picture is a futile effort. As you've noticed you'll get guesses all over the board. No one really knows how long the fish is, what the girth is, etc. Some simple measurements make the guessing process much more accurate. If you don't have a tape on you then use your rod to get a length and then measure it when you get home. The best method I've found though is just to cut lengths of line that will be the same as the length of the fish and one other one for the girth.

Rigging & Using RageTail Baits - New Video!
Same as last year. We get the pleasure of hearing about them for months and months without being able to get our hands on a single one.

18.5 lb bass
Your one single fish isn't going to have much of an affect on bass fishing. However, if all bass fishermen kept all fish that they caught over 10 lbs then you'd see a dramatic effect on the catch rate of bigger fish. I'd probably keep a state record fish though.

Rapala DT Series Crankbaits
X2. Haven't broken a bill on a DT yet, but watched my brother in law break one. He was too lazy to pull the weeds off himself. I even told him that he was probably going to break it and not 5 minutes later the lure was worthless. How hard are you pulling it through the rock to break the bills? I fish chunk rock and haven't broken one yet, have lost a few, but none have broken.

Ribbontail Worms
For the past 30 years, no self respecting southern boy will leave his home without a pack of 7.5 inch Culprit ribbontail worms and Texas rig it to ketch them big bass.. Guess I'm not a southern boy then. Give me a pack of 7" motor oil powerworms and I'll be happy. I got away from these last year, but they've always produced for me.

Is this just the sickest new car on the market ???
How much of the money spent on a "domestic" car that is made in Canada/Mexico stays there?
-
Low-flow toilets
Yeah if you drop it and brake it you can't clean it up legally unless you block off the area and leave and call a hazmat crew to come in and clean it. Then if you are gonna move and want to sell it you have to list it as having had a hazard spill and have all the documentation that it has been cleaned properly. And as an added bonus the light they put out is shite and takes 10 minutes to come on. > Pretty much 100% incorrect.

Baby 1-Minus by Mann
The paint is cheap, but the bait catches fish with or without the paint so don't worry about it.
-
Rage Tail Baits
Nope, the two are different. Just look at the legs. The zooms are flat and the rage tails aren't. That's also the difference between the chunks. The "ends" of the rage tail baits are wider and will catch/displace more water.

Rage Tail Baits
Umm, the Rage Tail. Do you think they look the same?

Might want to check your witholding for 2009
They would have to track the with holding of every single person in the US and then determine if the employee is married and if so, then figure out if their spouse is working and if so then limit it to $400, if not then they get $800, then they have to look to see how much you're supposed to make to see if you make too much to not qualify for it. Then they have to monitor your marital status/job status throughout the entire year to see if anything changes. Doing that for every single working person in the US is a major task that doesn't make sense when it is very easy for each individual to take care of it themselves. If you're working two jobs then you need to change your with holdings at one of your jobs to with hold more.

Might want to check your witholding for 2009
LOL, can always count on AJ for stuff like this... ;D I have two jobs and my soon to be wife has a job too. Max that can be received is $800 for a couple and we will end up getting $1200, meaning $400 goes back to them. So much for being "rewarded" for working. : Freakin' LOSERS. So you're complaining that you have to pay back $400 out of $1,200 that you received? You're still $800 ahead of where you were had this not been put into place. Seems like an odd thing to be complaining about to me. If someone walked up to you and said Ill give you $1,200 but in a few months you have to give me $400 back would you not take him up on the offer?
