  1. Then you aren't doing it right. Why not?
  2. I use KVD. The quality of the line does not affect the usefulness of the line conditioner. You can say that the benefit is not worth the expense, but you'll still see benefits from using the KVD particularly on heavier line.

  4. One thing to note regarding BPS rods is that one should never pay full price for one of them.
  5. I've had a root canal and it wasn't all that bad from a pain standpoint. The most annoying part is keeping your mouth open and having them dry it out for the entire time that they are jamming those little files into the roots of your teeth. Not too pleasent to think about, but not all that bad to go through.
  6. As I pointed out earlier, the OP was specifically asking about SIX inch senkos and not 4 or 5 inch ones. The SIX inch senkos come in 5 packs and not 10 packs like the 4 and 5 inch ones.
  7. Another of Burley's outlandish statements. I've actually used an ugly stick (as recent as last year) and have 2 extreme rods, and the difference between the extreme rod and the ugly stick is VERY large. The extreme is a decent rod. It's on sale frequently so don't pay retail price. It's obviously not going to be a top of the line rod, but it'll catch fish.
  8. I agree too. If the water is not solid then I'll try a spinnerbait.
  9. That's lame!! I travel to Memphis for work a few times a year and went to both of them when I was there to see what deals they had. Now I'll only have BPS to visit, which isn't nearly as good as Sportsman's Warehouse.
  10. Here's the price from the GYCB site. 6" senkos are a 5 pack and cost $5.99. http://***/cgi-bin/order/9L-5
  11. That's what drugs do. Why this drug is legal and other drugs aren't still leaves me confused. That's true, but it GREATLY increases your odds of dying early.
  12. Just because there is oil there doesn't mean that it is economically feasible to get it out of the ground.

  14. Who says we aren't? https://www.dmr.nd.gov/oilgas/stats/2007Formation.pdf 7.4 million barrels in one year seems to appear to me like we're going after it. That's only from ND too. Montana also pumps some from it.
  15. X2. GMAN makes good stuff!
  16. You cook them in a deep fryer? Is that the only way to cook them? I've never even heard of eating the eggs. The idea intrigues me a bit though as I like to try new foods.
  17. Our members who make a living servicing reels recommend NEVER opening a reel without schematics. 8-) Been taking my own apart for 15 years......Never payed anyone who was making a living doing it, to do it for me, and never needed a picture. 8-) Yeah for you!!!!!
  18. The two biggest things that one must consider when searching this forum is that the default is set to select all posts within one thread that has the search terms. One gets much better results if they limit this to one post per thread. That's an option in the search function. The second thing is that the default search time frame is only the past week. That's not much history to be searching. I typically always change that to at least a year. Other than that, I wish I could type in a username in the By User field instead of opening the search by user and then typing in the name and clicking on it.
  19. I find this pretty interesting and it certainly addresses the question posed. However, I don't think it has to be that complicated: Power fishing = baitcaster = Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12 Finesse fishing = spinning tackle = Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 8-) I agree. With only a few setups I fish: 12 or 15 lb Big Game on my "all purpose" bait casting setup 10 lb Big Game on my bait casting crankbait setup 8 lb Trilene XT on my "all purpose" spinning setup and 6 lb Trilene XL on my finesse spinning setup All purpose basically means single hook applications. I've also got some 20lb braid from my spinning reels on my spare spools. I think that the article also puts way too much emphasis on the visibility of braid. I haven't noticed a significant difference in number of bites between braid and mono even in fairly clear water. Also, the tackletour.com flouro test debunked the "no stretch" flouro claims. The flouro that they tested streched as much as the base line mono that they compared it against. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewfluorocarbon2.html
  20. I wouldn't keep one mainly because I'm too lazy to clean them and my wife doesn't like fish. One must study their home water and try and determine how many fish are being kept. In order for the fish in the lake to reach their maximum size some fish from each year class MUST be harvested or killed. As Mattlures said you can have a ton of small fish or a few huge fish, but you won't have both.
  21. If I'm fishing a ribbon tail worm or a trick worm then I like to have some weight. Catt's suggestion is dead on. If I'm fishing senkos then I don't typically use weight. Those beasts weight enough the way it is. I always T-Rig, but that's more to do with my limitations as I've never really fished the C-Rig.
  22. I also haven't noticed a significant casting increase, but that is probably because I typically don't try and rocket eveything as far as possible. Anyways, the big benefit that I've noticed with the conditioner is the increased life of the mono. I'm able to go MUCH longer between needing to change my line. This alone has more than made up for the added cost of the conditioner. It also significantly helps with coiling. Dom may be fine with some coiling, but I prefer next to none and get that with the L&L. It's a great product. 8-)
  23. Just one, don't set the hook so hard! 8-) Hooksets with braid do not have to be as forceful as mono. Braid doesn't stretch so less power is required for an effective hookset.
  24. But what size senko are you talking about? 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch, 7 inch???? Come on Catt, you need to be more specific!!!! ;D
