  1. Ruger sr9c everywhere I go. Nicole carries a Sig 238 in her purse. Since Taylor is only 17 she's packing a ladle for now. Why? Because we can. Way to many crazies out there. I have a loaded AR at one end of the house and a Remington 1100 at the other and both my girls are deadly with either. I spend around $200 a month at the range mostly on ammo for Nicole and Taylor to make sure they are very comfortable with all our weapons. We live in a nice neighborhood but home invasions are REAL. I'm gone a lot and I just like knowing they are prepared.
  2. Paychex Punch stops are the most durable especially on braid with heavier weights. TW has them.
  3. I have had Otter box, Ballistic and Lifeproof for my iPhone 4 over the last 3 years. They all have strong points but Life Proof is by far the best and lightest.
  4. I have been carrying a Ruger for the past year. I'm thinking of a ladle for my new concealed carry. Or maybe a Vietnamese, I'm undecided...
  5. A couple years later Dad traded some airplane seats and other avionics to a buddy for a '69 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed. This one got restored for my little brother who wrapped it around a power pole about a year later and totaled it. He drove a Pinto wagon the rest of the way through high school.
  6. When I was 16, Dad found a Cutlas 442 convertible that was in a garage when the house burned, got drug out by the FD and sat under a tree under a tarp without a top for years. Lots of elbow grease and many deliveries from JC Whitney later, I had a beautiful hot rod, dark blue, white interior and top. It attracted a lot of attention from both the chicks and the cops. Man I miss that ride.
  7. My last ugly stick is at the bottom of Lake Harris. Up until the time it went overboard it made a great crank bait rod. If you were buying there are better options, but since it was free, it will do most any thing you want it to.
  8. I am not in the majority here, but for any bait with treble hooks, I use mono. I like having the shock absorbing quality of mono to keep from tearing the hooks out. I mostly use Berkely 12lb big game.
  9. Even though I normally fish more expensive rods, I still have several lightning rods and 2 new lighting shock rods in my arsenal. They are awesome low priced rods and I prefer them for some applications.
  10. snap/swivels never. snaps on cranks and some top water. Loop knot on poppers.
  11. I buy strike king and bomber cranks by the box because they are cheap and I know I'm throwing them in the heavies crap around. Several lost a weekend is not uncommon. If I fished big swim bait waters I would probably have $100 swim baits too. I also complain about the price of soft plastics and how many I go through in a day. Fishing is an expensive hobby. The great thing is that everyone has their own way of spending the absurd amount of money we all spend.
  12. Yea! Not really. Around 40 years ago my Dad gave my Mom a boat battery for her birthday. Around 35 years ago my parents were divorced. Around her birthday, every year, my mom still brings that story up. Moral of the story, buy it for yourself and she complains for a week, buy it for "HER" and you hear about it for a lifetime.
  13. I use Berkley big game mono for anything with treble hooks. The stretch acts as a shock absorber and keeps the hooks from tearing out.
  14. guilty I fished Lake Agnes the morning of and remember more about fishing than the ceremony...then we left for Highland Marina, West Point Lake, Georgia for the honeymoon. We have not been on a vacation without the boat since.
  15. I saved a ton of money on 2 Revo rockets that I received last week. Two Abu rods, Rage Tail baits, and Power Pro are on the way.
  16. I have been using 50 lb supercast and 50 lb power pro super slick 8 since June. They are both quieter than standard. They both have coatings that break off around the knot that I don't like but have not broken. They both cast well in hot weather but not so much in the cold we had last week. The super 8 nested so bad I had to cut it off. I have decided to nix the super 8 and ordered a spool of standard 50 lb PP from Valley. I will run the Supercast vs the stardard PP for the next few months.
  17. Once you replace the seal, just hook up the fill kit and proceed like it is a new fill. Your old fluid will be stained (mine looked like rust) so bleed your line until you get clear fluid and no more air bubbles. It took most of 2 quarts to do my 21 ft boat.
  18. I bought one and used it this summer to flush and bleed mine. Works great.
  19. MK hands down if you fish in the slop. The prop design is far superior on the MK for heavy vegetation.
  20. I have two boats and 7 Walmart Everstart group 29 batteries. Money is not a concern for me in batteries and I still choose Wal-mart. I have only had one problem. I was on vacation, in BFE Georgia, on Sunday when I lost a battery. Went to Walmart Sunday night and they swapped it out no questions asked. Try doing that with any other brand.
  21. you might want to get a longer cable so you can put the batteries in front of the middle seat when you are by yourself. This will balance the boat and make it track better. You will probably never burn a fully charged 29 series in a day but it is still a good idea to have a spare. In addition to the state required safety gear you should always have one thing in the boat, real shoes. Take an old pair of tennis shoes and put them in the boat the NEVER take them out. There will come a time, when something happens and you have to walk, a long way. You can thank me later.
  22. Taylor's first double at age 10, Thanksgiving 2007, West Point Lake
  23. What would Beckie put on your plate? Hummm, let's see... @hole moron tardo goobr norod nextX Sorry Bro, that was too easy
  24. Nice boat. My first (and favorite of all time) boat was a 10 ft monarch jon that gave me freedom for the first time. Enjoy exploring with your new best friend.
