Southern Blizzard!
My car was completely frosted over this morning. It was 33-35 out and I have no heat either. I was scraping my friggan windows with a plastic spatula as we have no need for ice scrapers here. Was the first thing I thought of ;D Poor me, right However when you live here and it gets cold it feels twice as cold. 40 degrees feels like 15 or 20

What are your fishing Strengths?
Spinnerbaits. I love to modify my baits and presentations. Topwater. I got a lot of tricks up my sleeve and I can walk anything in my sleep including many plastics.I love to make my baits dance.Explosions are nice but I get more satisfaction from knowing that I did whatever I did with my bait to make the fish strike. Texas rigs. It's all about rate of fall and also keeping a constant rhythm in the presentation and changing presentations until I get bit. I can always squeeze some bites out with it where others have failed. I feel like I am pretty good at perceiving whats going on around me and reading conditions. I get very in tune to any sounds, wind, ripples,or wildlife around me. I am good at teaching as well.Just need a willing ear. (not that good at typing things out though) I am good at driving and positioning my jon boat and giving my partner a fighting chance. A little 12ft aluminum with a transom mount TM ain't no joke to run when the wind gets kicking a little.Ya got to eat your wheaties.

I'm an idiot sometimes
Too funny! ;D I did that exact same thing once. I also threaded a trailer on a brand new jig one day then proceded to toss it overboard like I normally do except this time it wasn't even tied on my line yet. : Got irritated one day(over who knows what) and threw my needle nose down on the floor of the boat(boat is aluminum). Well to make a long story short those pliers stuck in the bottom and dubbed as a plug for the rest of the day. Double DOH! Broke one of my Croix legend tourneys one day.Got a crank stuck in a sunken tree and was using the rod tip to poke and prod and try to free the lure.It was quite windy out and I had my other hand on the TM tiller. A huge gust popped up out of nowhere and the first four inches of my prized rod snapped like a twig as the boat spun around, and I still never got the bait back. By far one of the stupidest things I've ever done, trading a 230.00 dollar rod for a 8.99 crank :-[. I guess we learn the hard way sometimes,(for me it's all the time) and I have a heck of a lot more respect for my equipment now (If this is a thread about CF's I can go on all day as I have many LOL. Part of fishing I guess)

What are your fishing Weaknesses?
Dropshotting.I can't catch a cold. Need a better setup though. Basically anything more than 15ft of water. I lose all confidence. Jigs, jigs, jigs! I despise them. I still cannot for the life of me see the allure of the stupid things or how it is more effective than a texas rig. I move around too much, fish too fast, and change baits way too often MOST of the time.

Carolina Rig Technique
I know sometimes it depends on what kind of grass you fishing, but a c-rig in the grass can be killer! You got to use a slender mojo style sinker paired with a bait without to many arms or appendages such as a fluke, senko, trickworm, or ribbon tail worm.Floating tubes and worms can be extremely effective as well.Set the leader length to make the bait ride above bottom grass. You can also use a styrofoam carolina floater the goes in front of the bait like a bullet weight but I use foam earplugs as well. These weights are incredibly slender and small.Best grass weight I ever used.http://www.***.com/descpageRIVERSTERM-RSCSS.html

Right. I've had some good ones and bad ones. Can't take them back, ordered them, and the hassle and cost of shipping them back almost isn't even worth it

How to fix leaking hollow body frogs?
Ok thanks Bizz.Thought it was you who posted that before. DW I got some R2S frogs and yes they are quite impressive! They don't make a popper though. The spro popper is quite an amazing bait after you figure out how to work it properly, but....it is a spro and most of them seem to take on water very badly. My first popper never had any issues until about 30 fish later it ripped in the front.

How to fix leaking hollow body frogs?
I know this has been discussed a few times in the past but it is too hard to search for something like this I tried... Got a few brand new spro popper frogs that leak right out of the package.I walk the dog with it 5-8 feet or so and the @#$% thing is already sinking. So does anybody know any good solutions to plug the holes or maybe some other way to fix them. I think I read a while back someone posted about plugging the hole completely then cutting a small slit near the front of the bait to let the air out or something of that nature? Thanks for any help J

Fake Christmas trees for brush piles
Dont see why it wouldn't work. You may need to be careful where you put it though. It could be considered dumping. Some states/cities have laws against dumping pallets,blocks,buckets/pvc,tires,or other materials. I am going to keep my eyes out for some now.Real christmas trees are great but they don't last very long before they fall apart.

What was your first artificial lure?
Yep shyster was the first artificial I ever fished with as well.Never caught anything but was too young to know any better or what I was actually trying to do. At that time I thought fish only ate worms. ;D A few years later I was probably 10 at the time and am a self taught fisherman.First bass I ever caught was on stanley spinnerbaits while still living in good ol Barberton Ohio. I had no clue what these baits were at the time but I happened to see an episode of Bill dance using one in a small river while I was flipping stations one day and I said "wow that looks easy".I went to K-mart and grabbed the first spinnerbait I seen, a stanley vibrashaft, and walked to a local creek with some decent current in it and caught many dink sized bass with my zebco reel and shakespeare rod. Been catching bass on them ever since and is probably why Stanley is still one of my top brands.

Strike King Zero stick bait
Haven't used the zero but would like to recommend that you try the SK shimmy sticks. This is the best knock off I found yet as far as action personally.

Rage Tail Anacondas
Yes they do suck to cast. They grab a lot of air.My thing though is that when I use an annaconda I catch a little bigger than average fish most of the time so it makes up for it.

Husky Jerk and X-rap comparison
The white(glass ghost) works very well in the dark tannic water I have around here. They got a new variation now called "albino" which is like a milky blue and white. Of course now I got to buy a deep and a regular in that one as well.It looks killer! Guess I've got to check out the clown now too. Thanks a lot. : ;D

Rage Tail Anacondas
Make sure the worm is very straight with the tail facing up.There are two little eyeballs on the top of the worm which should be facing up.Hook the bait right down the middle of the seam and making sure there are no kinks or bends in the body. These worms put off quite a bit of thump from the tail and can cause a lot of line twist if not rigged straight. This bait is also great on a c-rig.
-
Husky Jerk and X-rap comparison
Wait til you try the x-rap deeps! Now you've opened another can of worms. ;D They are awesome as well. I just bought a few husky deeps in the 12 size and am wondering if they will compare the the x-raps as well.

What lure are you?
This post is right up there with the one about "What kind of underwear do you wear?"

favorite pitching and/or flipping bait?
Paca craws in all sizes texas rigged with 1/4 to 3/4 oz.Colors depend on water clarity but green pumpkin or black and blue will pretty much do the job. Another great choice for me,as far as pitching goes, is using a senko with a stout nail in the rear.It slips through laydowns, pads, and cattails with ease..(oops did I just say that? I thought these had to be fished weightless..) 8-)

Rapala Jointed Shad Rap
The jointed shad rap is a flat out fish catcher and seems to work very well in colder conditions.(if you can say that in Florida ) Try using a slow steady retrieve then mix it up with pauses or use it as a jerkbait since this bait suspends. Not my first choice around cover since it doesn't float up. Need to get deeper? Try the number 7 as well. I really love the shad color and parrot but if firetiger works in your waters then go for it.Overall I don't think you will be disappointed though,it is a winner for sure.

Jerkbait help.
Another important pointer is to work the bait with the rod not the reel.It isn't a crankbait.Create slack after a pull, jerk,or twitch by pointing your rod directly back at the bait, then reel in.the slack allows the erratic free movement of the bait. Think of it as a topwater, you put the life into it.Use a little creativity and imagination and try to find out if the bite is agressive or not and dictate your retrieve to those conditions. I am always looking for info on the subject as well and still new to these baits myself. Thanks for the other answers guys. Good luck.
