  1. They gotta pay for all their fancy sponsorships, advertising, and worthless catalogs they send you somehow.Guess they aren't making out well enough ripping peoples throats out on shipping. :
  2. You also don't live in Florida.
  3. I like it for a pitching bait with a heavy weight and lifting the rod very slowly to crawl it over and through brush. It has more of a mild action to it than something like a regular brush hog in case thats what the fish are looking for. I have also had mild success with it on a carolina rig. Black and blue saphire, green pumpkin, and black emerald are my favorite colors.
  4. I frequently have the points roll on the Gam EWG hooks of all sizes. The 1/0 and 2/0 I use will bend out quite easily too. I am also using braid though. I still prefer them to mustad or eagle claws.Owners would be my favorite though.
  5. Quote from the comments on the article:"That's an average to small Nile perch. I've seen much larger ones." Thought it just said that the record was 230 lbs? : : Anyways that fish is pretty darn spectacular! I have never seen or heard of those before until now.We all know how much a LMB can eat but can you imagine how much food it takes to feed a monster pig like that?!?!
  6. Thats really cool and sounds like fun! I don't have an UL setup at this time but would love to.I'm sure it breaks up the regular routine a little and also makes the peanuts turn into hogs. Crappie time is coming soon I'd like to get a couple rigs before then.
  7. Fishing weights are the only reason I even know about this type of thing in the first place. ;D (never paid attention in school)
  8. I think he is lurking among us.....
  9. I'll spare y'all another post "female dogging" about this heat we have down here this year since now I feel sorry for you guys that are not going to be able to fish at all very soon for a while.
  10. It is relevant in the way that bass inhale their prey. Fish are missed on baits such as hollow body frogs because one must drive the hook(s) out of the plastic and through the fishs jaw.Plastic can potetntially ball up and get in the way especially on a short strike. How many times on a frog miss do you pull up a deformed bait that has been mangled with the hooks sticking every which way through it. I think it is pretty slick where the hook is placed on that bait and the only problem I could forsee is fishing it through sticky pond scum
  11. You remind me a lot of Dink Whisperer... ;D You Florida guys all love you frogs and exclamation marks. x2 ;D But let me ask you this: Are we fishing for bluegills that nibble on their prey? How does the hook placement matter?Have you ever fished a live frog or seen anyone do it? You sure can't texas rig a live frog,it is hooked in the lips. I've caught bass on 10 inch straight tail worms nose hooked on a dropshot. Just trying to make a point,to each his own, thats why we're people I guess.
  12. I agree about the tadpole Matt. Swarms of small black tadpoles are perfect fare for bluegills and panfish but I have never seen them eat them either.
  13. The exact reason for me also. I buy what I can afford and I can afford BPS stuff. They look awesome to me. I have a Slimdog that I've torn them up with. I can't imagine a Sammy being any better.[/quote] ...And you are absolutely correct.
  14. Pretty funny! ;D Kinda looks like that dude is on something a little more than just alcohol though...
  15. Yeah I seen that video too.Hilarious. Any idiot can tell just by the shear size of the mouth that it is not even a ballpark 10lber. ;D
  16. Thats completely off the hook! Dunno what else to say. Wonder if he's broken any bones?
  17. These things are sick sick sick! Permission granted for drooling. Click on "hatchery" and also click on "frogs for sale" and check out the colors. There is also a video sample section near the bottom. http://www.floridakayakfishing.com/index.html Here is one that I like that shows the bait underwater:
  18. I really like the xps slimdog walker: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_45146_100005003_100000000_100005000_100-5-3 The shallow square billed cranks are great too and you don't have to worry much about losing them.Great for running through brush!
  19. Maybe back off the drag a little bit too? Make sure you wet your knot when you cinch it down to be sure it is nice and snug. You can also use a small drop of glue to keep the line in place. Inspect the bait closely after every fish and make sure the R bend isn't coming open any.If it does then your line may be more inclined to slip up the shaft.
  20. Fall?!?! What the heck is that? :-? 91-92 degreees every single day here, no clouds, no breeze. This crap needs to be over like yesterday.I haven't been out in almost 2 weeks but I am glad someone has been getting them.Maybe I've been missing out? Anyways like BB said the bite WILL pick up very well as soon as this water drops a few degrees.
  21. i second this +1 I really got into it in the later nineties with antichrist superstar but haven't really heard much of the newer stuff and would like too.
  22. I for one would love to see someone post a picture of a fish in the outings section with this thing hanging from its lip. : ;D
  23. A spinnerbait? Then again I don't know what the approx depth is your fishing or how heavy the current is(if any).
  24. Right, and all that is true. I am asking you then if someone handed you a larger bill to cover the cost of a drink or two did you ever ask them "do you want the change?" or just automatically keep it and drop it in your jar without giving them the chance to hand it to you or leave it on the table for you? I would consider that bad service and make a point of slamming my hand in a car door before I go back.
