What can anyone tell me about Gambler Ugly Otter Baits?
Amen x2. The flappin tail worms are a big hit around here. I like the otter as flipppin pitchin bait too. On a heavy weight it will really get the tail movin.

Zoom Super Fluke
Walking the dog on top is also a very effective method in shallow water or when you see fish busting. Walk it along then just kill it and let it sink in a likely spot. They never hit these softly,it's usually a crushing blow.

Big bite or lil bite from the chimp, which one you prefer ?
Yep.So back to the question.Which is worse?? These are the questions which cannot be answered, such as the meaning of life. I would prefer the big bite. Just get it over with as soon as possible then I know I am too broke to give in to any nickel and dime tactics. :-/

Suspend dots and strips
You can weight the hook shank when using flukes, senkos,or paddle tail swim minnows.Or make a suspending jerkbait slowly sink.Make a floating jerkbait suspend.Use to weight down frog type lures.Or rear weight a topwater to make it sit lower. Lead solder can also be wrapped around the treble hooks to do the same.

Advice on crankbait
Yep cranks are where it's at right now. These recent cold fronts are really turning the bass on and the bait is coming up and on the move. The water is still warm and I haven't noticed the famous lockjaw syndrome starting yet. Might I reccomend the rapala dt series. These are great beginner cranks. Use a dt fat 03 in pearl or silver. This is an aweseome bait around brush. Will dive up to about 5 ft on 10lb line. Dt 4 and 6 foot models in shad color.this color has been great lately in clear or stained tanic water. Rapala jointed shad rap 5 and 7 in shad color. This is a suspending crankbait. Not as good around cover but kiiler in more open water when the wind is blowing. If you see fish busting or large groups of bait dimpling the surface, run the bait through and around them.Use a stop and go,pause twitch, fast then slow,or a sudden rod sweep in one direction.keep changing every few casts. If you are hitting bottom or any other structure then pause after hitting it and let the bait float up then rip or twitch it along.

Beneficial article on an oftenly overlooked method...
It's okay if you want to catch multi species depending how you rig it or what hooks used.Bowfin, cats, bream, bass, carp, tilapia, are all game. I enjoy the hunt and the trickery involved in getting a fish to hit an "artificial". (for lack of a better term)

POND FISHING: TRY FISHING FROM THE SHORE OTHERS DON"T GO NEAR!
LOL thats why I gave up on wading after I moved down here.Looking over and seeing two giant eyeballs on top of what looked like an eight foot log scared me enough.I used to do it all the time when I lived in Ohio.It is a great way to get to those out of the way spots.Waders are also nice when you have to traverse a marshy swamp area to get to another part. A machete can be a valuable tool as well.the access can be blocked by thick briars and such which I have been known to trudge through too.Nothing like getting several hundred small scratches and small cuts just to get a chance at a big fish : Even If a particular shore or area isn't getting fished the bigger fish will sometimes shy away just for the simple fact that people always walk around nearby the waters edge.

Question about R2S V-Joint Minnow Wake
I believe it would still catch fish but I view a lure as a tool. I needed a wrench, instead I was handed a screwdriver.

Question about R2S V-Joint Minnow Wake
Thanks Brad. Yep, I know about rod up and rod down, retrieve speeds, and even line size becoming a factor. I had bought this lure with the impression that it was a wakebait since it is written directly on the bottom of the lure, and that was the job I wanted it for. Verdict,Junk! May as well buy a buzzbait that runs on the bottom,a spinnerbait that won't spin,or a swimbait that won't swim.

Question about R2S V-Joint Minnow Wake
Just got one of these the other day and it is one sick looking bait,at least for the price. The swimming action is great. Problem:This bait WILL NOT WAKE or ride on the top whatsoever. It only dives, and around 3 ft at that. Will not hardly float up either.I have tried to retrieve at a snails pace rod high in the air and it digs in like a DD22 Yep, I am a noob to wakebaiting but I know how to work my lures and I know what jobs I want them for.I don't just buy things cuz they look cool. This bait is supposed to be able to run at a variety of speeds and bulge the surface.Am I missing something here? Did I get a bad bait? I would like to here from someone else who has used one of these.Whats the deal? I am ready to send it back. > Have heard and read nothing but good things about these things so far.

I don't get it?
Your kidding, right? I guess I just "get lucky" with all the lures I own.It takes no skill, just a little luck that's all. Better than that, try a cast net.It takes even more sport out of the "game" It's all about catching not fishing or learning how to. :
