  1. A single willow is the ultimate for heavy grass.Comes through cover the cleanest. It is also the fastest blade and or combination, good for burning and running deep.Bad for slow rolling. In other words it gets a lot less lift when retrieved as compared to a d-willow,or any type of colorado. Remember again the size of the blade whether single or double in combination of the weight of the jighead dictates the overall speed and depth the bait can achieve. You need smaller blades OR a heavier bait to go deeper. A single willow can be good in clear water also.Less flash and more speed.Sometimes you don't want the fish to get a real close look at the lure, just to react to it as it speeds by. If any of this makes sense Spinnerbaits can be as complicated or simple as you want to make them.
  2. Amen brother! Try a bluebird day in this Florida sun a few times and you pray for clouds.
  3. I was under the distinct impression that the vixen was a spook/sammy walking style topwater.Guess you can never stop learning. ;D
  4. I think the biggest problem is the line. That stuff is junk, which is of course subject to interpretation. I have been tying a clinch knot my whole life and never had a problem. Be sure to wet it and pull it slowly together.
  5. Finally got mine for 3.07 today and it seems I can actually spend 20.00 and get some gas instead of fumes! 8-)
  6. Yep,just need a split ring plier, makes life a whole lot easier. Make sure you keep some extra split rings around too in case one gets bent or starts to rust.
  7. In my limited experience they will come over pads and slop much better than a regular buzz.
  8. Before I was a member on this forum I used to read all the articles on this site a lot. I also used to read articles and reviews from that "other site" and now that I think about it a lot were the same. This seems to make more sense to me now Fluke as I haven't been able to get any kind of real answer on the matter yet 8-).
  9. Wuhahaaahaahahaahhaa!
  10. And it's kinda hard to post a picture since you got it from that super secret tackle shop L. B. F. : Heres the pic. I too am curious about it.
  11. < is jealous of stringjam and his array of killer baits. :-/
  12. A simple search with the word bladedancer should yield some results. I like the tiny ones for crappie and the weedless skirted ones through the slop and weeds are killer.
  13. About 80% un pegged for me too. If fishing drop offs or humps/ridges etc. there is absolutely no reason to peg the weight and the bait gets a lot better action when fluttering down into deeper water. If the bottom is cover in vegetation like coontail moss you will want un-pegged because pegged will drive the nose of the bait straight down into the stuff. If I am flipping mats or trying to skip into or under trees pegging the weight is a must. Also on the rare occasion that I swim a worm. The thing that you must undersatnd the most when fishing un pegged the weight falls to the bottom first and then the bait lays more horizontally and SLOWLY flutters down with an erratic enticing action if allowed to fall on a slack line. A pegged weight always has the same predictable mechanical type of action to it, always nose down to the dirt. Try fishing a bait like a senko once with a pegged weight and then watch what it does with an un-pegged bullet on the tip. This is a dynamite way to fish these which is rarely discussed. Blah Blah Blah, rambled enough. Just keep experimenting. It is a never ending process.
  14. I am discovering more and more how warped your imagination really is Muddy...and I like it 8-) I wonder though how a shot of bourbon would taste in the mix.
  15. I am not holding any "agents" to you. Dose this make sents?
  16. I haven't found a frog yet that doesn't flip over the wrong way. One question: Did these shads and toads come out of the new clamshell packs? The ones Big-O sent me ran perfect. Until I tried those I was very sketchy about buying anymore due to the 50/50 fact.
  17. Great bait. Bass Assassin also makes a version of a Slug-Go that they call twitchin shad. The 4 in size is ideal. These are about the same size and profile as a finesse worm. http://www.bassassassin.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=SRCH&Store_Code=BA&search=twitch&offset=12&filter_cat=&PowerSearch_Begin_Only=&sort=&range_low=&range_high=

  19. X3, I thought it was a well thought out post. Just hard as hell to read.I had to highlight each word by word with my mouse. Aceman, this is a forum and your gonna get poked at a little bit regardless of what you do or say.MOST of the time you hear something negative it is said in jest. For the most part we all get along pretty good,so stick around 8-)
