  1. Another HUGE thing for PA at least is... not all the regs are in the rulebook or net. The wardens have ANOTHER book with MORE rules that we aren't even aware of. I was told this by a guy who was a state cop for 10 years and a game warden for 20 years.
  2. In cold weather I hate it, haven't tried it in weather above 45 yet.
  3. Are you going as a rider? Either way look on the FLW site there will be a meeting place listed. You need to meet at the meeting place they will give you more info as to launch time partner this and that. IF you are a rider you will talk to your boater and discuss meeting place prior to tourney day. I would bring a PFD, >6 rods, a small tackle bag, rain gear, and I can't tell ya about weigh in bags. Also think about chipping for gas at the end of the day.
  4. I use the V12 on my boat and the boxes in my plano bag if I go as coangler. I don't know which ones I have. I have a spinner bait box, buzzbait box, terminal tackle box, I have two hardbait boxes http://www.***.com/descpage-FTO706.html, I also have the general one just with the boxes. The box in the link I posted are skinny they are really neat. You sort of need to just check them out and see what you want.
  5. I have got the best advice for you if your not in college yet. Learn how to study in high school. I am a junior in college and am trying to learn how to study..... If you don't learn to study you will regret it and you will think about what I said. I know you have a high GPA, but keep up the work and practice studying!
  6. Just wait until gas prices hit $5 a gallon. You will find great deals!
  7. Brett there is good fishing you need to find it! Need more cowbell.. I don't get it. I go to PSU and we follow that quote. To this day I don't understand why!
  8. I rarely use a hook that big. To me a 4/0 and a 5/0 are HUGE. I use 1/0-3/0. If I go bigger to 4/0 or 5/0 it is because I am using a Fat Ika or a 10 inch rubberworm or fishing for turtles!
  9. There is a pattern there find that pattern somewhere else on the lake. My .02 cents.
  10. I agree with speedbead on what he is saying. Another thing you want to consider is would you get the gratification getting your PB out of an area like that or out of a 10,000 acre lake that is pressured. Me personally it is more gratifying getting the fish after you have been working for them and not fishing in a "tank" so to speak. Your call man, but I will just about guarantee 99% of the guys on here will tell you that you shouldn't do it.
  11. My tournament is in Indiana for the Big Ten Championship. I just had a bass tournament last weekend on Yellow Creek. Two weekends ago I had one on Raystown. Jim's anchorage was just held on Raystown 15" limit 3 fish. I am having a tournament last weekend in April I think it will be a paper tournament.
  12. I am going out, but just because it is a tradition with my family. I love trout fishing, but I don't enjoy first day (where there are hundreds of guys on a stream). Wouldn't your cousin's brother also be your cousin? I don't consider him to be my cousin. My uncle was blood related, he passed away, my aunt had a child with another man. I don't consider him being blood with me.
  13. Burley you are one funny sob.... God bless you!
  14. I will be fishing in the Big Ten Championship. The ride will be about 9 1/2.
  15. He caught it on a trout magnet.
  16. I didn't even hear about that tournament. I will be fishing Lake Maxinkuckee Indiana for the Big Ten tournament on that weekend. I fished against Auburn in VA on Smith Mountain. Good luck to whoever is fishing that tournament!
  17. Nope I have a bass tournament, but last weekend was the first opener back home. My cousins brother caught the new state record Palamino 13 lbs.
  18. I am jealous...you have no idea. I was there when the water was 45 degrees. Such a beautiful lake and I would love to be in your position Scott.
  19. I have an upcoming tournament on Lake Maxinkuckee is Indiana. If you have experience on this lake please PM me. I just wanted to know species/cover/forage and what not. Thanks!
  20. Muddy you will love that rod! That is my favorite trout rod. You can easily get away with 4 lb test also.
  21. I have a soft plastics bag, but I only take that with on a 2day tourney. I usually just throw the packs of original bags in my plano soft tackle bag where I have 5 3700's. I just take what I will use. I always want to go into the tournament with some sort of game plan. I base the plastics I take off of a few things such as water color, smallmouth or largemouth?, time of year, fishing pressure, water depth, and what techniques I want to use such as punching mats/trig/crig/dropshot etc. .
  22. I have seen people put their foot in their mouth on here before, but I think this takes the cake!
  23. Fish Chris I am glad you said it not me. This record is totally believable. I was thinking exactly the things you said, but I would probably catch flack if I said them. Thank you!
  24. I have never been interested in guns. I always wondered what is within your legal rights as a carrier. If someone attacks you and you shoot them can't this be considered illegal? The only way I would ever shoot someone is if my life was endangered, but that point where it could actually be endangered it could be too late. What is it that you CAN do and WHEN you can do it? I do a lot of fishing from 12AM-5AM and sometimes it gets tricky. Many times I run into people strung out on drugs or drunk. Where I go there has been fishermen robbed at gunpoint. I carry a knife and I am very attentive to noises and I move quietly. I have no training with a knife.
  25. This year I will be fishing about 40 tournaments total. I just joined a very active local club.... absolutely love it! I also fish for PSU we fish a few club tournaments and some bigger ones. We just had a tournament early march on Smith Mountain Lake for the VA Tech open and going to Lake Maxinkuckee in 2 weeks. I am also trying out the Northeast division BFL this year. I should have a fun year of fishing!
