We all talk about trophy fishing....Well looks like CJ caught a REAL "Trophy Day" with his boys. The memories from these adventures not only last, but mean more and make much more of a positive impact than any trophy fish could by itself. This makes our wonderful world go round and round.... thanks CJ for being a great DAD. Paybacks are AWESOME Big O

Yeah the twins, "Hunter and Fisher" sore mouthed over 500 Brim during their day and a half adventure......and some of'em weighed over a pound. They never wanted to even take time to eat or drink anything, only Fish. That's a good Thing.

Wow, I had a Big O day today.....Got to fish with one of my all time favorite Pro's "Big Mark Davis". We filmed a show together fishing one of my new Rage Tail designs and had a terrific time. I told him that I was going to be with some of you guys soon at Kentucky Lake and he said give all of the Bass Resources Family a Big O HOWDY for him. He is heading out this Sunday to Dardanelle, then straight away to 3 more ELITE events without a break....Now that's a long haul and tough time from home. He was able to bring his family for this little outing because his 9 yr old twin boys were out of school for Spring Break. Mark and I fished with the boys for several hours yesterday evening, then Marks wife fished with them all day today....Now that's real Gal and she and Mark are great examples of parents raising kids right. I really believe that fishing is the best all around opportunity for families to spend quality time together and I am also proud of everyone here at BR who share this kind of time with your Little Ones. Reading the threads here of folks taking their children fishing is very refreshing and "MAKES EVERYONE SMILE" Big O www.ragetail.com

Sam, the water temps were between 69 and 71 over the entire lake and the fish are basically in early post spawn patterns here so they are hungry. Hey Paul, If it'll help, I'll take a picture of some dinks next time....

My advice is to pierce completely thru the bait with your hook point and skin hook it back into the body just slightly.....this allows the hook point to cut thru the skin of the bait easily and get into the fish's jaw much easier than otherwise. This is a popular hooking procedure with many soft plastics. Hope that helps and let me know if it works better for you. Big O www.ragetail.com

Was Cloudy and/or raining so I was able to get out and hunt some fish this week. Fish were active in 10 to 20 ft and feedin' on Rage Lobsters pretty heavy, so of course I gladly served'em up....Big Tex color tipped w/ JJ's chartreuse.....colors Doubleheader and Amber Green were also gett'in bit. Hey Dixon, I agree with many of the above comments and definitely use a 5/0 ewg minimum. Also be sure to allow the fish to load up before setting the hook. Speeding up retrieve just slightly sometimes creates a more aggressive strike and if the fish completely misses the bait and you continued the retrieve with no additional strike, next time stop the retrieve and let it free fall maybe a slight twitch. Having an additional bait rigged like a fluke is great follow up with too. Braid or stought line is also recommended to avoid line stretch on the hook set. My favorite colors are the pearl belly and green pumpkin back and/or the chartreuse belly and green pumpkin back. the Rage Toad has a small hook relief on his back that the hook point can be hidden in or skin hooked without changing the original shape of the Toad. I recommend 4/0 hook on 7" and 5/0 min on the 10" Annies....Here are some of the most popular ways to fish'em Tx rig with 1/4 oz or larger weight depending on the depth of water and wind conditions Carolina rig with varying weight again depending on water depth and wind....5/8 and larger are popular. Weightless super slow swim in shallow water and over mossbeds Swimbait hook or keel weighted hook for seductive fall and swimming action with slow lift and fall and on and off retrieve.
