Just got back from a week at Falcon. Testing new bait designs and had a terrific trip. Couldn't fish at night because this time of year nights are extremely windy in that area and more calm in the day. Had to tough it out in the heat, but it was worth it. Caught lots of fish and 8 big uns. Only got pictures of 6, left the camera in truck one day. Caught one 10-3/4 fish 2 different times in less than 10 minutes. 30 minutes after that, caught a 10-1/4, same spot. "Honey hole" Averaged 50 fish per day and all on jig and new big Craw and new big worm. Wish many of you could've been there, but the heat and wind were relentless. My new Triton 21X2 made it an enjoyable trip, handles the water and fishes great. 250 Merc Optimax got best fuel mileage I've ever seen. I'm impressed. Big-O www.ragetail.com
  14. For sure YES, throw 10" worms in daytime warm weather conditions and riggem any way you want to. My favorite hook is Eagle Claw long shank heavy wire 5/0. Shaw Grigsby and I fished recently, filming a new Rage Tail 10" worm and he showed me these hooks. Long narrow design allows ease thru grass etc and the hook point is offset just the right amount to get a sure hookset. They are Great and I have used just about everything in the way of hooks. 15. Deep water structure like humps or points with rocks, timber ledges or old river or creek channels nearby. Jigs, Carolina rig, DD22 cranks, sunscreen, wide brim hat and a wet towel for your neck. Go catch a PB. Just got back from testing new designs at Lake Falcon and can't fish at night there this time of year due to winds regularly blow much harder at night then less during day causing extreme daytime heat conditions. Caught big fish and alot of them and all in the mid day heat. Good Fishin Big O www.ragetail.com
  16. Welcome to the board jlp, and sounds like the weather pattern you are referring to is not bad at all. The chance for rain, raining etc. is not a bad thing and as long as the rains are not extremely cold over an extended time frame. Just avoid lightening, wind etc. and you will be fine. Hey Capt welcome to the group. I just got back from Falcon where was testing several of the new Rage Tail designs that are due for release mid July. Had a great trip, that lake is terrific. Big O www.ragetail.com
  21. Hey BayouBass, Welcome to the group and don't worry about Jigs appearing to large for the size of fish in your area. Jigs with trailers are notorious for catching all sizes of fish in just about all conditions so go for it. My trailer of preference for smaller size 1/8 to 1/4 oz jigs is Rage Tail Chunk and it has remarkable action even with the smallest jigs at minimal rod tip movement. Even on the fall with these smaller jigs the claws of the Rage Chunk are flapping wildly back and forth and other chunks or trailers can't achieve that. Good Fishin Big O www.ragetail.com
